90-VVVVVVRESOLUTION NO. 90- ~/~/V~I/I/'V/ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COM}4ISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CERTAIN CONTRACT FOR SERVICE BETWEEN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH AND THE GREATER BOYNTON BEACH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE; A COPY OF SAID CONTRACT FOR SERVICE BEING ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose of this Contract for Service to set forth basic and full agreement between the parties concerning performance of activities by the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce and payment in the Ilamount of $10,000.00 by the City of Boynton Beach; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, that: Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute a certain Contract for Service between the City of Boynton Beach and the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce in the amount of $10,000.00, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon passage. PASSED AND ADOP~D this ~-Z~day of October, 1990. / /~ayor '~'9i c~ ~yor ~v coINmlssloner Co~smissioner - ATTE S T: (Corporate Seal CONTRACT FOR SERVICE perform Florida, of money hereinafter agreed The Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce agrees to the following activities for the City of Boynton Beach, for and in consideration of the payment of an annual sum to: PUBLIC INFORMATION SERVICES - Maintain an office and staff to handle resident and visitor inquiries in person, by telephone, and by mail about the business, community, and residential climate of the City of Boynton Beach. The Chamber of Commerce will, within its financial ability, study and research topics, prepare and distribute materials appropriate to meet the inquirer's needs concerning the community. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Develop and maintain a comprehen- sive economic development program to expand and attract clean, ¥ light industries and businesses in order to expand job ~p0r- tunities for local residents and increase the property tax base and economic base of the City. The Chamber of Commerce will maintain close contacts with those countrywide organizations designed and authorized to operate in the field of tourism and economic development and promotion.
