additional school rooms. These rooms are Sabbath or Sunday
school rooms and not rooms for the day school. They have no
plans to expend the day school. He then presented a petition
to the Board signed by 64 people representing neighbors and
residents within sm approximate 300 ft. area of the com~truc-
tion site stating they have no objection.
~. Bushnell added that he discussed this particular piece of
property with the City Clerk. The borders are more than
shown, so in the future it will not be necessary for them to
return for future expansion. Mr. Rossi questioned what was
abutting this property and Mr. Shaver informed him that there
were si~le family residences. Mr. Rossi asked if the people
signed this petition who live in these abutting residences and
Mr. Shaver replied: yes. Mr. Shaver informed him that he con-
tacted the people and found only about five or six not home
in the immediate area. Mr. Rossi questioned if there was
anyone in objection and M~. Shaver replied that just one man
objected to the school program and the noise of the children,
but this does not affect .this school. ~. Shaver continued
with explaining the plans~ showing what was existing and what
was planned. ~s. Huckle questioned if the parking would be
extended and Mr. Shaver r~plied that it was not required as
the membership does not warrant it. ~. Rossi as'ked how many
more students would be added with this new addition and
Shaver replied that it had nothing to do with the day school
and would not increase the nummber of students in Sabbath
School, but would just move them from the regular school
rooms where they new meet. They like to keep the church and
school seps~ate. They have about two acres of land there.
Chairman Kelly asked if anyone present in the audience was
in favor of this application and Mr. and ~s. Shaver and
another couple stood up. He then asked if anyone present
opposed this application and received no response. The
members then looked at and discussed the plans.
Mr. Rogers made a motion to recommend to the City Co-~ncil
that conditional use as presented for the addition of the
Sabbath classrooms at the Boynton-Delray Seventh Day Adven-
tist Church be approved. I~. Walker seconded the motion.
Motion carried 6-0. Chairman Kelly announced that this
Board recommends this for conditional use and this applica-
tion will be discussed by the City Council at their meeting
