MInutes 03-27-74The Planning and Zoning Workshop meetilg held at the City Hall, City of Boynton Beach, on March 27, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. Present: Fred Kostner-Chairman Joe Kelly-Vice Chairman Loren Blacketer G. Huckle Emily .Jackson J. Wo Barrett-Building Official Jack Aitken-Assistant Absent: W-. Trauger O. Walker A review of the proposed Zoning Code. Discussion regarding screens, setbacks with pools and without poo~s. Present Code says screened pools can be within eight (8) feet of back prop- erty line and eight (8) feet frOm side. Questions were asked as to why'is this different from screening a patio this close? Nr. Barrett said, "It is a matter of safety with a pool. Screen enclosed pools will be allowed no closer than eight (8) feet from the building line. (Didn't resolve screen enclosures W~th- out pools as far as set backs are concerned~) ....... Discussion of Non-conforming buildings, and non-cOnforming lots of record. Page 54-draft #7- read by Mr. Barrett discussed Sub-- standard lots of record and Mr. Barrett gave specific examples to explain and wishes to up-date this section. Mr. Barrett will rewrite section on rePlatting of non-conforming lots or tracts. Mr. Kostner read a letter from Mayor Joe DeLong to the chairman suggesting he set a date with the City Manager-for a joint meet- ing of the 'Council and the Planning & Zoning BoE~d to discuss the proposed new zoning code 'and map. The Board discdssed a change of a roadway in Charter World to eliminate a possible speedway. Discussed bicycle.paths planned by Charter World. DiScussed the new proposed ZOning map and over-lay and a change of scale, plus the 'shOwing of new and old maps when we advertise for hearings. Discussed proportion of various types Of zoning to be included in new map' and code. Mrs. Jackson expressed hope that hearings not have to beheld in the summer when so many people are away~ Fred Kostner Chairman
