Minutes 07-10-72MINlYFES OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD WORKSHOP MEETING HELD JULY 10, 1972 AT ~HE CITY HALL, BOYNTON BEACH, FLA. PRESENT Mr. C. Aye rs Mr. K Ewing (arriYed late) Mr. F. Kostner Mrs. P, Moore Mr. R2 Olds Mr. O Walker Mr. S. Weaver Mr. Robert Largent, City Planner Mr. 4. W. Barrett, Acting Building Officia Mr. Olds, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M. Approval of Fl~nutes-- M~eting of June 26, 1972 Mrs. Moore~!~stated there was an error in the minutes of the June 26th meeting, The second paragraph of page 2 should read: the triangle portion of land just west of the recreation building should be deeded to the City at this time. Mrs. Moore and Mr. Kostner concurred with Mr. Weaver on this matter. Mr. Ayers made a motion to accept minutes as written subject to correction, seconded by Mr. Kostner. Ail voted "Aye". General discussion followed regarding the development of;i_the shopping mall and its traffic problems. Mr. Largent opened discussion on Candeub & Fleissig"s report and advised the Board as to the proper use of the information contained therein and the offered guidelines on this for consideration by the Board. In this general discussion the subject of developers and the need for additional open area for recreational purposes was reviewed and how to obtain this land from the developers, particularly with regard to par2i- cipating sports; such as golf, swimming, tennis and shuffleboard. Mr. Largent directed the Board's attention to the General Development Chart and asked that the Board be concerned with the grouping of like areas and the affect of adjoining areas for Mr. Largent also asked the Board to take a good second look at 1-95 and the proposed overpasses with relation to east-west travel to determine whether an additional overpass access or interchange is needed. Mr. Weaver asked that Mr. Largent get some definite information from the School Board as to needs and probable locations for schools. Mr. Olds asked for another meeting on Monday July 17th.
