rm. Olds moved that the minutes of the previnus meeting be accepted as written~
seconded by Mm. Weaver. Motion carried 6-0.

The~request is for a furniture store with outside displays.
Mr. Sarno read letters from Ym. snd Mrs. Emory L~mou 407 S. Federal ~. ~ and
Mr. E. P. Binder~ 200 0rizons W. stating objections to the request; also a
letter was read from Mr. Henry E. Thompson with no objections.
Mr. Hoskins and Mr. E. Duffy were present on behalf of the request. There is
currently a store in Boca and a store in Pompano. This is ap. Old abandoned gas
station and in order to have outside displays it must be zoned C-2. Mr. Hoskins
would agree to this being strictly a furniture store and nothing else would ever
go in there.
~m. Sarno asked if the City Council has accepted Site Plan Approval? The Building
Inspector stated that it became effective November !9.
Mr. Sarno asked '~y plans were not submitted for approval ? The Building Inspector
stated that the building already exists.
Mr. Sarno stated that even though the building exists ~ the applicant should submit
complete site plans and the oomplete project he wishes to have rezoned.
Ym. Bru!i asked if Mr. Hoskins decided he did not want the fu_~nitume store could it
be a gas station again. He was answered that it could not be used as such for at
least foum years according to their contract.
Col. Albert Wehrell would be in favor if the site plan is approved. It would not
hurt anylJaing for the furmi~ to be outside. If the condition was put in as
suggested it would be an improvement.

request, but would 1Lke to have it revert back to C-1 if %hey give u~ the

Mr~ Clayton Kaul ~ Ster!im~ Village stated that th_ere is no ~a~rantee {nat iz

is very much against it.
Mm. Ayers suggested Mm. Hoskins come ~in with comDiete site p!~m within %he next
two weeks and show exactly what he is going to do.
Mm. Weaver suggested all~sJmg a conditional use w~hout chang~ng -'dee zone.
Mr. Sarao stated that this should not be acted upon if site pl~ approval is
required°
A motion was mmde by Mr~ Ayers ~o table the item ~nd have Mr. Hoskins come to a
workshop meetLng with site piens, seconded by Mr. Weaver.
Mr~ Hoskins stated ~%at ~aey checked with the City Attorney on the conditional
use and he stated tb~s could not be done.
Fpo Sarno s~a~ed that there was in inference that the Board met Ln closed sessions:
this Board has never acted in closed sessions. The doors have been open to
any-one that wants to come in.
Motion carried 6-0.
Mr° Canav~n requested that the Director of Ster~g Village be invited to the
meeting~ 500 F. Federal~. Board of Directoms~ Sheldon Huggins.

Ykmo Herm~y Green preserved a petition signed by residents in the area who are
against the request~ People bought their homes away from ~Cae center of to~n in
single family dwellings. Seventy-two is high density and they~.e very much
against it.
Mm. L. T~ Bro%m!ee~ N. W. 8th Avenue moved to this area for peace ~nd quiet.
Invested a good parent of their savings into the house. %l~is request would down
grade the propePty. He asked that the request be denied°
Mr~ Carl Steele 921 N. W. 8th Avenue is against ~cais requests they moved here for
peace and quiet ~nd that is what they should get.
Mr. L~rence Shabot is against the request. He wanted to live in a residenti~ol
area ~nd would hate to see it ahange.
YrP. A1 Clem. ors 899 8th Avenue stated that the app!ice_nt dd not show any reason
why the request shou/d be grmnted.
Mr. Jim Cox 90i N. W. 8th Avenue is against the request and stated that it should
remain residential.
