Minutes 12-30-65Minutes of Special Meeting of Planning & Zoning Board held in City Hall, Boynton Beach, FlOrida, December 30, 1965 at 7:30 P.M. Stanley '~eaver Chairman Wohlleb called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Mr. Olds made a motion that the reading of the minutes be waived and that the minutes of the last meeting be read at the next regular meeting. Mr. Keats seconded and it was unanimously carried. NEW BUSINESS To consider zoning and/or rezoning of the following described property: That part of Lot 19 being the E 2AO' of W 392.29' of N 107.31'; also that part of Lot 19 beir~ the E 540' of ~ 1187.38' of N 107.38', Sam Bro~ Jr. 's S/D, as recorded in Plat Book l, page 81, Palm Beach County Records. Lot 4, Lot 5 less S 5' thereof, Lot ~7, 18, 19 and 20, Boyntonborough S/D as recorded in Plat Book 25, page 174, Palm Beach County Records. Request: R-1 to R-3A Location: Approximately 107' undeveloped strip joining and to the N of platted lots along the N side of NE 16th Ave., between ~ 4th St. and NE 2nd Ct. Owner: W. R. Borough Mr. Ray Allen, 325 N. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, spoke Lu favor of the rezoning, stating that the petitioner was not~ Able to be present because he was out of the state on business. Mr. Allen stated that this property is blocked off to the north, and that they are requesting R-3A zoning which is the same type zoning granted to the north of this property. }~r. Keats asked if Mr. Borough planned to develop the property himself or is requesting rezoning with the possibility of develop- ing the land. Mr. Allen stated that he does plan to use the property at some future date. The people to the north may use it as part of their plan and if they do not, then Mr Borough will develop it himself. ' -1- MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING Plaraning & Zoning Board, December 30, 1965 Mrs. Edna Smith came forward and asked what type of apartments would go on the property. Mr. %~Tohlleb explained that Mr. Borough could build any type of apartment, rental, condominium or coopera- tive. Mr. Keats also explained that this is a request for change of zoning and the Board cannot control the type of apartment that goes on the property, and that they have no more knowledge than anyone else as to what he plans for the property. Mr. ~.~ertz.. stated t_~t: he felt that there should be definite plans for the use of the property. Mr. Keats replied that no matter what plans Mr. Borough might have, he would not have to follow through with them. Mr. Allen said Mr. Borough is requesting R-3A zoning with apart- ments in mind, but has not bad time to get plans together. There are definite indications that The Four Seasons Development Corp., which owns the property to the north, is interested in this property for more apartments. Mr. Keats stated that he could not see what else the property could be used for. There were no objectors in the audience. Mr. Keats moved to grant the request. It was seconded by Mr. Olds and unanimously carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M. -2-
