Chairman Wohlleb called the meeting to order. ~finutes of regu-
lar meeting of April 8th were read by the Chairman. ~{ro ~eaver
corrected the minutes with regard to the first and second paragraphs,
page 1. Relative to the waltzing of the minutes of the meeting, he
requested that the wording be changed
to read "waive the ~ of
the minutes~ in both instances. Mr. Weaver moved that the minutes
be approved with the corrections. ~!r 01ds seconded ~4otion carried

~r. Wohlleb read a letter addressed to the Board from ~ord
Carter, Realtor congratulating the Board for sending the Council the
letter urging purchase of more public beach.

Public hearing on the following application was called:

recently been zoned C-1 from R1AA, and was to be sold to the same
outfit to bring the complete parcel up to approximately 44 acres
on which would be constructed garden-type apartments.
There were no objections presented to the Board against this
rezoning request.
Mr. Weaver moved that the Board recommend to the Council that
the request be granted and the property be rezoned C-1. Mr. 01ds
seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Public hearing was called on the following, application:
Lots l, 2, and 3 Block 21; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 17, 18,
19, and 20, Block 25; all of Blocks 24, 33, and 34,
Boynton Ridge as recorded in Plat Book 24-, page 28,
Palm Beach 0ounty Records.
Request: From R-1 to
Owner: Royal Palm Community Builders, Inc.
The Board was informed by Mr. Wohlleb, confirmed by Mr. Weinstock,
that all of Block 34 had been withdrawn from the requested rezoning.
~r. Wohlleb read letters from Edith and Ray Desjardin~ and Mr.
and Mrs. ~fred Denig vigorously protesting the rezoning. He also
read a petition objecting to the rezoning with signatures represent-
ing eighteen individuals whose residences were in Boynton Ridge.
~r. and Mrs. Alfred Denig and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Desjardines were among
the petitioners.
The following persons spoke against the rezoning:
C. A. Carroll, 1891 N. Seacrest, representing
P~iley-Field Corp. owners of 155 lots
immediately south of the property to
be rezoned
~rs. Pohlman, 2116 N. E. 1st St.
Charles Claypool, 2651 N. E. 3rd St.
Mr. Wohlleb read a letter from Mr. Joseph H, Hill, President
of Royal Palm Village Property Owners Association, Inc., stating
that the above named organization had voted in favor of the zoning
change by an overwhelming majority at a special meeting on April 13th.
Mr. Hill also spoke in favor of the rezoning.

Hr. Weinstock, representing Royal Palm Community Building, Inc.
stated that his company owned about 328 lots in this section and that
they had to pay taxes on them for the last eight years in the amount
of $5,000°00 and since there was no market for single family residences
they would like'-~o build garden-type apartments on the lots. He stated
~hat they had purposely stayed 300 feet from Seacrest and 250 feet
from N.~E. 2nd Street.
After hearing all presentations in favor and against the applica-
tion, Mro Weaver moved that the Board recommend to Council that the
request be denied° Rev.- Stauffer seconded. Motion carried unanimously.
Other
DNe to several members of the Board being out of town on the
first and second Thursdays in June, the Board decided to hold the
regular June meeting on Thursday, June l?tho The recording secretary
was asked to notify the City Clerk of the change in meeting date.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 8:30 p.mo
