The Chairman called the meeting to order with two people Present
in the audience, ~[~. and i~rs. ~Jilliam 'ffateso
Yrs. Jones read the minutes of April 9, 1964, from the rough
draft in her files. ~Lv. l;~/holleb moved the minutes be apPrOved as
read. ~ir. 01ds seconded, i~otion ca-tied Unanimously.
It was agreed to take from the table ~f.r. Yates request for a
change in zoning from R-2 to C-1 on the following described property:
Lots 25, 26 and ~7, Block 4, Boynton Heights,
ynton Beach, Florida, according to the Plat
hereof recorded in Plat Book 10, Page 64,
Palm Beach County Records.
Address: !01 N. ~. First Avenue.
This request had been tabled at the April 9, 1964, meeting of the
Board, for the PUrpose of affording more time to look over the facts
and study the variance aspects. During the Public Hearing portion of
that meeting the c~ly objections presented against the change in zoning
came from the First Methodis~ Church as Presented by ~L~s. Herbert
Keatts, who said that the church was not concerned with what Mr. Yates
woUldownersdO, with the property, b~t would be concerned ~l th any f~ture
~r. V~'eaver read a letter from the First ~iethodist Church of
Boynton Beach, stating that they would have no objection to the pro-
perry being rezoned to 2-3 provided it was restricted to items listed
~nder Sec. 7, .Para ~, Su-~--para. 1,2,3 and 7 which would Permit ~sage
of the property for business and Professional offices only. The
le tte~ was dated April 23, 1964.

· The Board read those portions of the zoning ordinance to which
the letter referred. It was determined that the kinds~of businesses
the church would object to~ wo~ld require much more land than the
t~ree BS-foot lots in question. Zt was the opinion of the Board
that they could not recommend a restricted zoning.
After
dzscnssion,- it was moved by ~1r. ~holleb that the Board
creject~ the original request for C-1 zoning and recommend to the
ounczl that the Zoning be changed to R-Z. t~o 01ds seconded the
motion which carried unanimously.

Gentlemen.-
At a meeting of the Official Board of First Methodist Church held April 15,.
1~64 it was the unanimous decision of the Board to favor the request of
Yates for change~of zoning on his Seacrest property from R2 to R3, Provided the
zoning is restricted~ to 'these items in Ordinance 62 - 9, ~ec-. ?, Paragraph
Sub-Paragraph 1,2~3 and ? which would permit usage of the property for business
and professional offices only.
