The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. with four members present.
~inutes of t~he last meeting, May 1959, were read and approved.
The Chai~nan read a letter addressed to the Zoning Board and the Planning
Board from the City Council, requesting that the Boards look into the question
of where in the City to locat~ businesses such as, used car lots, trailer sales,
liquor stores, boat sales, and filling stations. Mr. Burwell moved t~at a
joint meeting be set up ~_th the Planning Board as soon as possible to consider
the recommendation. The motion was seconded and passed°
Mr. Hump~ey explained the procedure the hearing would follow to those
present.
Tract
Legal description - Tract A, Lots i and 2, Bo~mton Isle~ Subdivi-
sion. Address - S. _emeral Highway, Boynton Beach. To be re-zoned
g-unit co-operative apart~uents. Owner and applicant the Brookdale
Company.
~. Geo. C. Abdo~ as owner and applicant presented his plans for the property
to the members of the Board. No one appeared objecting to the rezoning. After
discussion~ Mr. Weber moved that this tract be tabled to be dis~ssed at the
joint meeting wi~ the Planning Board in order that any decision made by the
Zoning Board would not conflict with their plans as to where such establishments
will be located. The motion was seconded and unanimously passed.
Tract 2:
Legal descrmp~on - Lot 21, Boynton Center, as recorded in Plat
Book 8, Page 12, Pah Beach County Records. Address - ll7 N. E. 1st
Avenue~ Boynton Beach. To be re-zoned for Kindergarten and l~ursery.

Mrs. LaCroix, as applicant, told the members of the Board her plans in leasing
the property. She presented affidavits from all residents within 500 feet approv-
ing of the applied for use. There were no objections presented. PL~. Henneman
moved that the Board recommend approval of the zoning. }~. ~ell seconded the
motion which passed unanimously.
Tract 3:
Legal description - Lots 394 and 395, Cherry Hills, Address - 12th
Avenue, west off northwest 4th St. To be re-zoned Commercial.
Owner and applicant - Thelma~ Patterson.
No one appeared either in favor or opposing this re-zoning. During the dis-
~ssion it was brought out that this was to be used for retail stores in conjunction
with other retail stores now being constructed on property abutting these lots.
~. Burwell moved that the Board reconm~end approval of the application. The motion
was seconded and passed.

of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 28,
Township 45 South, Range 43 East, Palm .BeaCh County, Florida,
more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a ooint in
the west line of said West Half of ~he West Half of the ~outhwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, at a distance of 311.O1 feet
south of the northwest corner thereof, said point being in the
westerly extension of the south line of Woodlawn Avenue, as shown
on plat of Bowers Park, recorded, Plat Book ll, paEe 57, P~blic
· ~ecords of Palm Beach County, Florida; thence southerly, along
the west line of said West Half of the ~®st Half of the Southwest
Quarter of the Northeast Q~arter, a distance of 996~5 feet, more

M~o ~. G. Benson, 136 S~ ~o 6th Ave., presented the Board with a petition
signed by 84 property owners and residents within 500 feet of the property to
be re-zoned, said petition strenously objected to the re-zoning° A letter from
Gall H. Morrison, owning property within 500 feet, was read, in which the writer
set forth his objections in detail~ The following citizens appeared before the
Board and voiced their objections as property owners within 500 feet: Paul
Harrington, Narman H. Kerr, representing the Presbyterian Church, Ernest Pierson,
William Fo TorEoehlen, D. D. Car~rter, B. B. Truee, ~s. Robert G. Benson, and
L. S. Chadwelt; Paul McBride presented his objections as owning property within
700 feet.
~. Weber moved that the Board recommend denial of the application for
zoning. The motion was seconded and passed.
Tract 5:
Legal description - That part of Lot 19, Sam Bro~nJr's. Subdivi-
sion lying in Section 15, Township45 S~ Range ~ E, except the
West 100 feet thereof~ Lot 19 Sam Brown Jr's Subdivision being a
subdivision of Government Lot ~ and W 1/2 of S. W. 1/% in Section
15, To,reship 45 So Range 4~ E, and of the SE 1/% of the SE 1/4
in Section 16, Township 45 S, Range %3 E, situated in Boynton
Beach, Florida, as in Plat Book l, page 81, Public Recc~ds of
Palm Beach County, Florida. Address ~ Railroad frontage immediate-
ly north of NE 16th Avenue, B~ynton Beach. To be re-zoned light
~udustrialo Owner and applicant - W. Ro Burroughs.
Mr. N~rman H. Kerr appeared as representing the owner and informed the Board
that the owner intended to construct a building to be used by the Redifit Door

Corp., using the railroad crossing of the Boynton Trailer Park as access to the
building. No one appeared either in favor or objecting to this zoning. Ma~. Burwell
moved that this zoning request be tabled to be discussed with the Planning Board
at the upcoming joint meeting of the two Boards. The motion was seconded and
unanimously passed.

Legal description - Lots i and 12, Deiret Park, ~ according- to the
plat thereof recorded in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court, Palm Beach Couflty, Florida, in Plat Book 24 page 38.
Address - Lake Avenue and N. W. 7th Co~t, Boynton Beach.
To be re-zoned commercial. Owner and applicant - Pay t~mmond.
Mr. John C. Williams, Attorney representing the owmer and applicant, Ray Dumond,
presented the Board with Mr. Dumond~s reasons for requesting the re-zoo_lng. It was
pointed out that this was a second aD~lication on the property. ~ne ~first applica-
tion had been approved by the Zor~i~E Board, but rejected by the City Council.
~ George H. Schell objected in person to the zoning, reading a letter to the
Board outlining his objections° ~. Schell also presented the Board with a petition
signed by 12 property owners within 500 feet of the property in question~ objecting
to the re-zoningo' Appearing in favor of the re=zonLug was Dorothy E~bank, owner
of property within 500 feet.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
