III. Correspondence and Communications
Ms. Boucard read the article that was sent via email acknowledging the Boynton Beach
Library for its services and programs. She commented it is always great to be recognized,
especially in a small town, and the Library is doing great things. Mr. Feldman received
correspondence from Smithsonian Magazine he forwarded to Mr. Clark about the value
of libraries in the communities. There were some very proactive libraries, around the
country. In Austin, Texas, the library community is the main pivot point for people getting
together in their communities. They are in rural areas and the library is the focal point.
Ms. Levine advised she also enjoyed the article and the newsletter Marketing sends out.
She volunteered for the MLK event and saw they had a table at the event and the movie
event. She was still getting a lot of feedback from ladies from the tour, how impressed
they are with the Library, they are taking a lot of classes at the Cultural Center and they
obtained Library Cards.

Staffing Update
Mr. Clark stated he is recruiting three people. One is the Public Technology Trainer.
They are hiring a trainer who should be on board in February as part of the ARPA grant
to teach classes to the public such as Quick Books, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and
they are onboarding a Research Librarian, a Library Page and another Library Page. The
second Library Page position opened up, which they would post in the next week or so.
A Library Page is a shelver. Dr. Hayden-Adeyemo asked if the Board saw the budget.
Mr. Clark offered to email the application to see how the $93K grant will be spent. The
application has been awarded so some of the things on the application may change, but
he would share the grant information with the Board. The amendment will go two or three
weeks after they onboard the Trainer. It was noted the Board has no input on the grant
amendment.
Career Online High School Program
Mr. Clark stated there are four students enrolled in the Career Online High School. Two
students are more than halfway done; three are working on the prerequisite, one
completed the prerequisite and is ready for a scholarship interview, which will take place
in about a week. Mr. Clark and Ms. Taylor will interview the student. Vice Chair Hayden-
