A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING
THE POSITIVE IMPACT THAT REVEREND JOSEPH DYE
HAS HAD IN THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH.
WHEREAS, The Reverend Joseph Dye has unselfishly contributed his
time and efforts for the betterment of Boynton Beach over the past five
years; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Dye has been dedicated to uniting in spirit
and purpose the black and white communities of Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Dye served on a Citywide task force to
evaluate police and racial relations in Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Dye has further served the City of Boynton
Beach as a member of the Community Relations Board; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Dye played a key role in the formation of
the Community Caring Center, which has been most successful in addressing
special needs in this community; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Dye has proven to be a man of action instead
of a man of only words.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Secti.on 1. The City Commission of Boynton Beach formally extends
its sincere appreciation to The Reverend Dye for the paramount contributions
that he has so unselfishly given to this community.
Section 2. The City Commission hereby challenges all citizens to
adhere to the spirit of cooperation and participation as exhibited by The
Reverend Dye's tireless efforts for the betterment of our community.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of September, 1989.
