The meetir~g was called to order at 8 P.~JT. by ~r.~{erkel.
As Mr. ~,~erkel said he found it impossible to continue as Chairman
of the Board, to the regret of the other members who praised the fine
work he has done during his teHn of offices U~, Feltis nominated Er.
Durkin, who was unanimously elected.
~r. Durkin read the minutes of the last regular meeting of
Dece~nber 10, 1956, which v~re accepted as read,
~r. Fettis suggested there should be more consistency in spot
zoning, referring to the two insiaao.es~ih.~the minutes, and queried
the non ~llowance of a permit for a medical building in a positioa
where a cemetery is on one corner, the water to~r nearby, and a church
on another corner. He strongly doubts whether any of this property
will be sold for residential purposes.
It was agreed that the C~ty Clerk be asked to provide a typewritten
sheet detailing the ~ifferen$ classes of zoning, the n~ber of square
feet of building called for in each, and any other information of inter-
est to the Plannir~g Board in this connection. The colors to be
marked on a map.
It was agreed that the Board should be provided with extracts from
the minutes of Cotuuci! meetioMs pertaining to zoning, ~nd also with copies
of Zoning Board ~inutes.
It was agreed that the following items be discussed with representa-
tives of the City Council:
Lee Manor Isles
Economy Builders' project.
Boynton Isles back of the ~¥o~an's Club.
Venetien Isles
Westchester Heights
Seacrest Estates.
The genera! opinion of the members wins that the Planning Board
should be apprised in advance regardir~g new developments. At present
they are extremely dissatisfied and feel frustrated at not being consult-
ed when they feel they should be.
Information was requested as to the status of the bulkead line
within the City of Boynton Beach.
