1. THE WORK OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE UNDER THE DIRECTION
OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND IS TO BE PERFORMED
BY SEVERAL VARIOUS CONTRACTORS TO WHOM THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR MAY ALLOCATE THE VARIOUS PARTS AS WILL
BEST SUIT HIS INTERESTS AND AS WILL BE SET FORTH IN THE
AGREEMENTS TO BE MADE BETWEEN THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR AND PARTIES DESIGNATED BY HIM.
2. THE ARCHITECT HAS NOT BEEN RETAINED FOR THE
SUPERVISION OR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE EXECUTION OF
WORK OF THIS PROJECT.
3. THE DRAWINGS, AND THE NOTATIONS THEREON, SHALL APPLY
TO THE WORK OF THIS PROJECT AND SHALL BE CAREFULLY
REVIEWED BY EACH CONTRACTOR, AND EACH CONTRACTOR
SHALL COORDINATE HIS WORK WITH WORK OF ALL OTHER
CONTRACTORS. THE GENERAL NOTES SHALL APPLY TO EACH
CONTRACTOR.
4. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES,
AND PROCEDURES FOR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND SHALL
COMPLY WITH FBC SECTION 33.
5. ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE NEW, AS CALLED FOR IN THE NOTES
AND DRAWINGS, AND THE BEST OF THEIR RESPECTIVE KINDS.
NO SUBSTITUTIONS SHALL BE MADE BY CONTRACTORS WITHOUT
THE PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
SUBSTITUTIONS OR "APPROVED EQUAL" PRODUCTS SHALL BE
LISTED AND APPROVED BY THE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO
CONTRACT SIGNING. ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE ORDERED IN
A TIMELY FASHION AND WILL NOT CONSTITUTE REASON FOR
SUBSTITUTION. DELAYS FOR MATERIALS WILL BE THE SOLE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR, FOR PORTIONS OF THE
WORK NOT SHOWN IN DETAIL, BUT WHICH ARE SHOWN GENERALLY,
OR ARE REASONABLY INFERABLE AS BEING REQUIRED FOR
A PROPER AND COMPLETE INSTALLATION. THE MATERIALS,
METHODS, AND WORKMANSHIP SHALL CONFORM AS A MINIMUM
TO THE TYPICAL OR REPRESENTATIVE DETAIL THROUGHOUT
CORRESPONDING PARTS OF THE BUILDING.
6. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR WILL FURNISH TO THE JOB SITE
CERTAIN KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY APPLIANCES, PLUMBING
FIXTURES AND FITTINGS, BATHROOM ACCESSORIES AND MEDICINE
CHESTS. THESE SHALL BE INSTALLED BY THE CONTRACTOR SO
DESIGNATED AND BE INCORPORATED INTO THE VARIOUS
SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE BEST
TRADE PRACTICES, AND RELEVANT CODE REQUIREMENTS.
7. EACH CONTRACTOR OR PARTY ENGAGED ON THE PROJECT
SHALL CARRY WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE IN
STATUTORY AMOUNTS, LIABILITY, BODILY INJURY, AUTOMOBILE,
AND OTHER INSURANCES IN AMOUNTS AND FOR PERIODS
SATISFACTORY TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR. CERTIFICATIONS
OF INSURANCE SHALL BE SUBMITTED BEFORE COMMENCING
WORK, FIRE INSURANCE WILL BE CARRIED BY THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
CONTRACTORS, SUBCONTRACTORS, AND ALL PARTIES ENGAGED IN
PORTIONS OF THE WORK SHALL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ARCHITECT AND HIS
CONSULTING ENGINEERS AND THEIR AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES
FROM AND AGAINST ALL CLAIMS, DAMAGES, LOSSES, INCLUDING
DEATH, AND EXPENSES. INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
ATTORNEY'S FEES ARISING OUT OF OR RESULTING FROM THE
PERFORMANCE OF THE WORK.
8. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE ALL ARRANGEMENTS FOR,
OBTAIN, AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS, TESTS, INSPECTIONS, AND
APPROVALS REQUIRED FOR HIS PORTION OF WORK.
9. ARRANGEMENTS AND PAYMENT FOR TEMPORARY ELECTRICITY,
WATER, TOILET FACILITIES, FENCING, AND BARRICADES, SECURITY,
AND CLEANUP WILL BE AS AGREED UPON IN THE AGREEMENTS
BETWEEN GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND CONTRACTOR.
10. EQUIPMENT AND DEVICES OF A TEMPORARY NATURE REQUIRED
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS AND FOR THE PROTECTION
OF THE WORKERS ENGAGED ON THE PROJECT AND FOR THE
PUBLIC, (SCAFFOLDS, STAGING, PLATFORMS, RUNWAYS, HOISTS,
GUARDS, RAILINGS, 'OPENING PROTECTIVES, ETC.) SHALL BE
PROVIDED, ERECTED, AND MAINTAINED BY THE VARIOUS
CONTRACTORS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE
BUILDING CODES. CONTRACTORS SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY
FOR THE REQUISITE PERMITS, INSPECTIONS, AND APPROVALS
THEREOF. ALL SUCH ITEMS SHALL BE REMOVED BY
CONTRACTORS WHEN ITEMS HAVE SERVED THEIR PURPOSE
AND WHEN DIRECTED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
11. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CUTTING,
FITTING, AND PATCHING THAT MAY BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE
THE WORK OF HIS CONTRACT. NO CONTRACTOR SHALL
ENDANGER THE WORK OF ANY OTHER CONTRACTORS, AND SHALL
NOT DO SO WITHOUT THE PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE
GENERAL CONTRACTOR. ANY COSTS CAUSED BY DEFECTIVE

THESE ITEMS SHALL BE SUBMITTED SUFFICIENTLY IN ADVANCE
TO THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR FOR APPROVAL TO ALLOW FOR
REVIEW AND POSSIBLE CORRECTION. FABRICATION SHALL NOT
START UNTIL SHOP DRAWINGS ARE APPROVED. COMPLETED
WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED
DOCUMENTS. WHERE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE
ARCHITECT AND OR ENGINEER IN BEHALF OF THE GENERAL

FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, OSHA REQUIREMENTS AND ALL OTHER LOCAL CODES AND ORDINANCES GOVERNING THIS
INSTALLATION, AS A MINIMUM STANDARD, UNLESS SPECIFICATIONS LISTED HEREIN OR SHOWN ON PLANS REQUIRE A
HIGHER STANDARD.
THE WORK INCLUDED CONSISTS OF ALL SUPERVISION, LABOR, MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT, FACILITIES AND INSTALLATION
REQUIRED FOR THE COMPLETE, SATISFACTORY AND APPROVED ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS
AND CALLED FOR IN THESE SPECIFICATIONS, OR AS MAY BE REASONABLY IMPLIED BY EITHER. THE ENTIRE

CONDUCTORS SHALL BE JOINED USING COMPRESSION SPLICES, EXCEPT THAT CONDUCTORS #10 AND SMALLER MAY
BE JOINED USING WIRE NUT TYPE CONNECTORS. CONDUCTORS SHALL BE TERMINATED USING COMPRESSION SPLICES
USED ON CONDUCTORS #10 AWG. AND USING 3M #33+ OR #88 PLASTIC TAPE. SPLICES IN WET LOCATIONS SHALL
BE INSULATED WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE AND ENCAPSULATED WITH SCOTCH CAST OR EQUAL POTTING COMPOUND.
LOW VOLTAGE CONDUCTORS RUN THROUGH THE RETURN AIR PLENUM SHALL BE PLENUM RATED.
CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY LENGTH OF ALL CONDUCTOR RUNS AND INCREASE WIRE SIZE AS REQUIRED SUCH THAT
VOLTAGE DROP DOES NOT EXCEED 3% FOR BRANCH CIRCUITS AND 2% FOR FEEDERS. ADVISE ENGINEER AS REQUIRED.
6. RECEPTACLES SHALL BE 15/20A, 120V AS, 2 POLE, 3 WIRE SINGLE OR DUPLEX GROUND TYPE EXCEPT WHERE
SPECIFIC PURPOSE, LOCKING OR HIGHER RATED RECEPTACLES ARE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS,
7. WALL SWITCHES SHALL BE OF THE TOTALLY ENCLOSED TUMBLER TYPE WITH BODIES OF PHENOLIC COMPOUND.
HANDLES SHALL BE WHITE COLORED.
8. PROVIDE AND INSTALL JUNCTION AND PULL BOXES WHERE INDICATED AND WHERE NECESSARY TO TERMINATE, TAP
OFF, OR REDIRECT MULTIPLE CONDUIT RUNS, OF SIZE INDICATED OR AS REQUIRED BY NEC. WHERE FEEDER SPLICES
ARE TO BE MADE, INSTALL BOXES LARGE ENOUGH TO PROVIDE AMPLE WORK SPACE.
9. LIGHTING FIXTURES: LIGHTING FIXTURES SHALL BE AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND SHALL BE INSTALLED
COMPLETE WITH LAMPS.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF REVISIONS TO EXISTING EQUIPMENT AND
WIRING TO ACCOMMODATE CHANGES AND ADDITIONS. ALL THE NECESSARY REROUTING AND/OR REMOVAL OF EXISTING
EQUIPMENT, WIRING ETC., SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE SCOPE OF WORK. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL EXISTING
EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS THAT WILL NOT BE REUSED IN CONSTRUCTION INCLUDING PIPES, CONDUITS, WIRES,
TELEPHONE LINES, COMPUTER CABLE OR WIRING THAT PASSED THROUGH THE SITE OF THIS CONSTRUCTION AND
RELOCATE THOSE THAT SERVE SYSTEMS TO REMAIN.
11. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL ALL NECESSARY POWER AND CONTROL WIRING FOR
ALL MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT. STARTERS REQUIRED FOR MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROVIDED BY THE
MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR AND INSTALLED BY THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR.
12. PANEL DIRECTORIES SHALL BE TYPED ACCURATELY TO SHOW AS BUILT CONDITIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR PROPERLY BALANCING ALL BRANCH CIRCUITS BETWEEN THE PHASES OF THE SYSTEM REGARDLESS
OF CIRCUITING INDICATED. ELECTRICAL PANELS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED WITH COPPER MAIN BUSSES AND TERMINALS.
13. TESTS: AFTER EACH SYSTEM HAS BEEN COMPLETED, A FUNCTIONAL TEST SHALL BE PERFORMED TO
DEMONSTRATE THAT THE SYSTEM OPERATES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE DRAWINGS. THE TEST
SHALL BE PERFORMED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN THE PRESENCE OF THE OWNER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE. ALL WORK
SHALL BE GUARANTEED FREE FROM DEFECTS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FROM DATE OF FINAL ACCEPTANCE. AT
THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL RUBBISH CAUSED BY HIS WORK AND SHALL
THOROUGHLY CLEAN ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
14. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE RECORD DRAWINGS (AS -GUILTS) OF THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION AS WELL AS
OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS TO THE OWNER UPON PROJECT COMPLETION.
