Your permit will expire soon. Pursuant to Section 104.6.1 of the Boynton Beach Amendments to the 1997
Standard Building Code, every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work authorized by such
permit is commenced within 6 months after its issuance, or if the work authorized by such permit is
suspended or abandoned for a period of 6 months after the time the work has commenced.
You will need to either successfully pass an inspection (it will be the contractor's and owner's
responsibility to have the plans and permit posted in a conspicuous location in order for the inspector
to conduct his inspection) or send a notarized request for an extension within 14 days from the date
of this letter. If you have not responded to our request, the City will send an inspector to perform a status
check. If work is found to have been suspended or abandoned, the inspector will leave a violation notice
informing you that you must successfully pass an inspection or request an extension within 10 days or your
permit will become null and void and a violation could possibly be forwarded to Code Compliance for
further action. The maximum time a permit may be extended is 90 days. The extension request must be in
writing, notarized and a justifiable cause demonstrated.
