The undersigned hereby petitions the Planning and 'Zoning Board to
grant to the petitioner a variance to Article X "Parking Lots",
of ChaptoJ: 5, "Ouilding, Housihg and Construotion ttogulations",
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida,
as it pertains to the property described in this application, and
for the reasons stated below:
Section, Subsection, and Paragraph number of specific requirement
to which variance is requested, and exact language contained in
the Code:
I. Parking lot layout.
"1. Dimensions. Parking lots shall be
designed to meet or exceed the
dimensional requirements for stalls,
driveways and access aisles as
provided for in city standards." ~
Nature of Variance Requested: Request variance to allow reduction

in backup aisle width requirement (27' per code) to width as shown on the
attached Boynton Beach parking structure sketch .
Statement of Special Conditions, Hardships, or other reasons
Justifying the Requested Variance (attached additional sheets if
necessary) :
The deck 1s sized to work with the existing parking lot and open space island.
The reduction in aisle width is to account for structural parapet walls and
columns and ramp conditions. Also note that the code requirement of 27' is
more restrictive that many south Florida municipalities in which deck
parking is cOlJlIlOnly found (ie. West Palm requires 18' long stalls and
24'aisles for a total of 60' bays).
