Mr. F.E. Jernigah
Senior Construction & Maintenance Representative

Dear Mr. Jernigah:
This letter is in addition to the correspondence I sent your
office on June 2, 1987, pertaining to the landscaping at the
Chevron U.S.A. Service station in Boynton Beach, FL.
The five items outlined in the previous correspondence have been
addressed, however, another item has come to my attention since
our last meeting in my office.
The City Planner has met with me to determine that the
Beach Boulevard and Congress Avenue road right of ways
screened with shade trees every forty feet on center.
and I discussed this topic but did not follow up on it
the deep pitch to the drainage area.
Boynton
should be
I know you
because of
The situation we are facing now, however, is that the service
stations across the street were also required to provide the
trees every forty feet as part of their landscape improvements.
I would suggest that the trees for your project site could be
planted up the side of the drainage area, possibly at an inclined
angle. These trees should be species that could withstand "wet
feet" (e.g. Cypress, Red Maple, Southern Magnolia, Sweetbay) and
provide screening at the same time. The total quantity of trees
requested would be five in height of 8-10 feet. The trees should
be placed on your property, north of the future R/W line shown.
If you want to discuss this to make locations for the trees in
the field, please contact me.
Sincerely,
/. /- I
