We can approve this project, subject to the following condition:
The sign is shown within a utility easement and would conflict
with a new water main. The applicant has agreed to relocate the
sign out of the easement to an island near the entrance. This
approach would eliminate our concerns,

Dear Jim,
The proposed sign for Drs. Snyder, Hodes, and Roberts, is resubmitted, with
changes.
The doctors feel that the sign is more in keeping with the sign ordinance's
intent.
Setback from front line is shown. Utilities department's attention is directed to
the added detail in lower left corner of the drawing. This shows a 9' space for the
sign, of which the foundation will use 4', leaving 5' for the easement and water main.

MEMORANDUM

FROM:

Tambri J. Heyden
Assistant City Planner
Snyder/Hodes Medical Office Building - Administrative
Site Plan Modification Request
Please be advised that on Tuesday, August 1, 1989, the Technical
Review Board denied the above-referenced request for sign
approval due to the staff comments below from the Planning
Department and the attached staff comments from the Utilities
Department. The next deadline for administrative review is 5:00
PM, August 11, 1989, at which time 6 sets of plans addressing
staff comments can be resubmitted for review.
RE:
1. Specify sign setback from front property line. Appendix A,
Section 11-A 10.
2.
The advertising shown violates the sign code and cannot be
approved by the Technical Review Board. A freestanding sign
can only advertise the project title or one main use.
(Chapter 21, Section 21-3, Freestanding Sign). The purpose
of the language was to limit identification of tenants and
their addresses in a multi-tenant building to a directory
sign, which could be erected on site. (Chapter 21, Section
21-15d)
3.
According to the final sign-off drawings retained in the
Building Department, parking changes have been made which
have not been reviewed by the Technical Review Board. These
changes can be reviewed at the next deadline if submitted
with the revised sign plans.

We cannot approve the sign location at this time, in that
the sign appears to conflict with the newly installed water
main.
We also note a number of other significant deviations from
the approved site plan in addition to the sign change.

MEDIAN MODIFICATIONS
This is in response to your letter of June 8 and subsequent
telephone conversations. Please excuse our delay in responding.
Attached you will 'find a marked-up. plan sheet depicting
those improvements necessary to receive a driveway permit from the
Department. The improvements include extending the existing median
25 feet to the west and restricting certain movements through signing
and pavement marking.
These actions do not fully address the operational problems
currently experienced in this area on Boynton Beach Boulevard. Due to
numerous land-use and traff~c-pattern changes since this study was
first initiated, our staff will reevaluate the safety and capacity,
characteristics on this r~adwayfrom N. W; 7 Court to, Industrial Avenue.
We anticipate further turning-movement restrictions and improvements to
left-turn-storage lanes., All affected property owners will be given an
opportunity for input.
