REVIEW COMMENTS 4y~r~ PLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM #93-177 TO: J. Scott Miller city Manager ~~ FROM: Christopher cutro Planning and Zoning Director DATE: July 15, 1993 RE: Signage at Newport Place The owners of Newport Place have submitted a request for signage to be located on Hypoluxo Road at the intersection of N.W. 7th Court. The PUD zoning allows the owners to submit a sign program to the City. There are no specific standards to follow regarding height or sign size. The sign ordinance allows signs for residential uses to be 6 feet high and 32 square feet on each sign face. The proposed sign would be 14 feet high and 40 square feet on each face. The Planning and Development Board reviewed this request at its meeting of July 13, 1993 and forwarded it to the City Commission with a recommendation for approval. This item has been scheduled for City Commission review and final determination on July 20, 1993. CC/jm Att. A:SIGNAGE.JM ~ , '" \. .., MEMORANDUM TO: Chairman and Members Planning and Development Board U~~ Christopher Cutro Planning and Zoning Director , '. FROM: DATE: July 9, 1993 SUBJECT: Sign Program for Newport Place The Stanford Park PUD is located at the southwest corner Hypoluxo Road and N. W . Seventh Court. The PUD ordinance has no signage limitation except for Board and City Commission review. The owners of the residential section of the PUD known as Newport Place have requested a 14 foot high freestanding sign to be located at the intersection of Hypoluxo Road and NW 7th Court. The sign would have 40 square feet in size and located on a strip of land that is owned by Newport Place. At the present time this is the only freestanding signage on the site and we are not anticipating any further request for signage at this time. We believe this request is reasonable and would ask that it be forwarded to the City Commission with a recommendation for approval. This item has been scheduled for Planning and Development Board review on July 13, 1993. CC:cp C:Newport
