2789-245 Boynton Beach, FL Walmart Remodel & Online Delivery Pickup Expansion (the “Project”)

To Whom It May Concern:
Please consider this narrative letter/justification statement for your evaluation of the civil site plan, engineering plans, and scope of work
required for a site plan review.
The Walmart Store #2789-245 is situated at 3200 Old Boynton Road, Boynton Beach, FL. Currently, a vital component of Walmart's
retail services includes an online delivery pickup operation located at the northwest corner of the store. This operation features 21
designated temporary parking spaces reserved exclusively for customer use. Upon placing their online orders with Walmart,
customers proceed to the store, using wayfinding signage, they proceed to the Pickup area, park in the designated online delivery
pickup spaces, and remain in their vehicles. A Walmart team member then delivers their grocery and retail orders directly to their
vehicles for loading and delivery. The process is designed to ensure that c ustomers do not exit their vehicles or enter the Walmart
store; rather, they utilize the temporary parking, get their packages loaded to their cars by a Walmart associate and then depart
promptly.
To enhance customer service and meet the demands of the community for the online delivery pickup operation , Walmart proposes a
+/- 3,211 SF expansion to their existing store. This expansion will be located at the northwest corner of the building and will be
seamlessly integrated into the current Walmart structure. For specific details, please refer to Civil Sheet C1.1 Site Plan fo r closer look
at the proposed enhancements. The plan includes improvements to existing parking areas north of the expansion, inco rporating a total
of 39 dedicated pickup spaces. These spaces will be clearly marked and designated for online delivery pickup customers. Additionally,
parking and pavement improvements will involve minor grading adjustments for ADA spaces (if impacted), proposed sidewalks,
striping of pickup spaces, striping of employee delivery paths, and crosswalks to enhance pedestrian safety.
Furthermore, the project encompasses other site improvements such as restriping of crosswalks, pavement markings, and updates to
pedestrian and wayfinding signage throughout the Walmart property. For an overview of these enhancements, please consult Sheet
C1.0 Overall Site Plan. Additionally, a preliminary full engineering plan set has been prepared for city review as part of th is evaluation
process.
