(conc erning the work and materials us ed during c onstruction of the required improvements), in addition to as-built draw ings on a high
quality time stable reproduc ible material showing the original design as compared to the actual f inis hed w ork .

Pay ment In-Lieu of Replac ement
The payment to the Tree Canopy Trust Fund mus t be made prior to permit approval.
A chec k for the corres ponding Payment in Lieu of Replacement amount should be either mailed to the City or delivered in person to
Vilmar Villafane, D evelopment S ervices Adminis trator.
Please be sure to include the Project/Cas e # along with 'T ree Canopy T rus t Fund' on the chec k .
Af ter res ubmitting the permit w ith the tree c ondition and caliper inc h information, pleas e conf irm the total amount w ith the Planner via
email bef ore s ending the chec k . Note that the permit w ill only be approved af ter the c heck is rec eived.
Pay ment In-Lieu of Replac ement - Trees
Include the c ondition and caliper inc hes of the trees to be removed within the Lands cape Permit Applic ation Form, and submit supporting
photos .
The Payment In-Lieu of Replacement is c alculated bas ed on the c ondition and caliper inc hes of the trees, as follows :
Tree w ith a c ondition rating s cale equal to or greater than fair: $250 per c aliper inch
Example 1: Payment for a tree w ith 8.5 c aliper inches is $2,125 (8.5 X $250).
Example 2: Payment for a tree w ith 21 caliper inc hes is $5,250 (21 X $250).
Trees with a condition rating sc ale of poor: A payment in-lieu of replac ement s hall be calc ulated at 80% of the above sc ale.
Required Document: Tree Dis position Plan and Mitigation Plan [Part III, C hapter 4, Artic le I. C . Mitigation of Ex is ting Trees and Palms]
Please provide a Tree Management and Mitigation Plan prepared by an arboris t c ertified by the I nternational S oc iety of Arboric ulture
(ISA) or a Florida-lic ensed landsc ape arc hitec t. T he plan should inc lude the location, s pecies , palm c anopy, tree c aliper, reas on f or
removal/replac ement, and condition of all trees and palms to be removed/replac ed, along w ith equivalent information for the
replac ement trees and palms . Mak e s ure to add photos . T he Lands cape Code requires that tree diameter be meas ured in c aliper inches
f or us e in mitigation calc ulations. Please ens ure the caliper of each tree to be removed is clearly indicated and inc lude the corres ponding
mitigation calc ulations.

All existing trees and palms that are not preserved in plac e or reloc ated on-site shall be mitigated by replac ement on-s ite or payment in-
lieu of replac ement.
The required replac ement f or existing trees or palms is determined bas ed on the plant type (tree or palm), and the overall condition of
eac h plant (good, f air, or poor). T heref ore, all relevant information must be provided to ensure an acc urate calc ulation f or replacement or
payment in lieu of replacement.
