We received approval in January of 2025 which included a ±3,819 square foot building expansion on the west side of the exiting store and the pickup parking in the main parking field. However, the project scope has changed slightly. The proposed expansion is remaining in the same location, but increased to 3,668 SF and the pickup parking has been proposed to be on the side of the building instead in the main parking field. The revised scope now focuses on reconfiguring the parking layout to better support Walmart’s Online Pickup and Delivery (OPD) operations. Specifically: • An increase from 3,211 SF to 3,819 SF on the proposed addition of the store. • A new OPD pickup layout is located at the northwest corner of the store, which will change the 39 approved pickup parking spaces from the main field to 26 pickup parking spaces on the side of the building. • With this modification, the total on-site parking will be reduced to 1,077 spaces, compared to the 1,118 spaces required, resulting in a parking ratio of 4.82 where 5.0 is required. The City of Boynton Beach permits up to a 5% reduction per Article V, section 3, which adjusts the required parking count to 1,062 spaces. The site previously received approval for a 5% reduction in 2022 in conjunction with parking lot pavement improvements. Under the current scope of work, the proposed parking count remains consistent with the previously approved 5% reduction and complies with applicable code requirements. We believe these changes will improve traffic flow and enhance the overall customer experience, while maintaining compliance with applicable code requirements.
