re: rezoning of a portion of Block lA'
Lake Boynton Estates, Plat No.1
The existing Post Headquarters of the AMERICAN LEGION Post 164
located on Lots 1, 2 & 3 of said Block 1A consist of a building of
approximately 2,000 sq. ft. that at present has inadequate parking;
the Legion recently purchased adjacent properties for the primary
purpose of expanding thier parking facilities; however, the property
aquired is in a zoneing catagory incompatable with the desired intent
and purpose of the Legion's purchase. Therefor a rezoning of the prop-
erty is nescessary to accomplish the goal of providing the on site
parking for the existing building and any further expantion of the
Post Headquarters.
There is an existing residential building located on the property
in question that is in violation of existing City Code requirements and
will also be in violation of the requirements of the proposed Zoneing
requirements; if presently, this residential structure falls under the
"Grand Father" clause, then it would continue within that catagory
until such use were abandonded, werein the structure would be deemed
unuseable unless it was, through whatever means, deemed to meet the
appropriate City Codes and Ordinances.
