PLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM *93-006
FROM:

TO:
DATE:

RE:
610 S.E. 2nd Avenue
Gene Frere, owner of the property located at 610 S.E. 2nd Avenue,
is in the process of renovating the structure at that location.
Mr. Frere desires to repaint the existing structure in white and
pink. At a later date Mr. Frere will be upgrading his
landscaping and parking area.
This structure is located in the Coastal Village design area and
the pink color is not considered to be acceptable in that design
district.
At its meeting of December 14, 1992, the Community Redevelopment
Advisory Board reviewed this proposal and after review forwarded
it to the Community Redevelopment Agency with a recommendation
for approval.
This item has been scheduled for Community Redevelopment Agency
(City Commission) review on January 19, 1993.

RE:
610 S.E. 2nd Avenue
Gene Frere, the Trustee for 610 S.E. 2nd Avenue, is in the process
of renovating the property for future tenants.
tThis structure does not presently conform to the Coastal Village
guidelines having been built prior to the guidelines being put in
place.
None of the exterior renovations are effected by the guidelines
except for paint color. Mr. Frere is proposing to paint portions
of the building a salmon color with white trim and highlights.
Since this color does not fit the Coastal Zone guidelines we are
asking the Board to review the colors and make a recommendation to
the Community Redevelopment Agency. A color rendering will be
available at the meeting.
This item has been scheduled for Community Redevelopment Advisory
Board review on December 14, 1992.

Mr. Christopher Cutro, AICP

Dear Mr. Cutro:
RE: REQUEST TO CHANGE COLOR ON 6 UNIT RENTAL APARTMENT
BUILDING LOCATED AT 610 SE 2ND AVENUE, BOYNTON
BEACH
This request is for a variance to paint the exterior
of the said apartment building. Attached hereto and
submitted for your review and approval is a rendering
showing the color and the part of the building to re-
ceive the requested color. I propose to use the equiv-
alent color to Benjaman Moore PR-27 which is a salmon
(pinkish) color with contrasting white trim.
Plans have been presented to Michael Haag in your
office for other improvements and they are:
1. Repair and enlarge parking lot from 6 to 8
parking spaces.
2. Add New and more attractive lighting on the
building. We also plan to add lighting in the
front of the building to cover the parking lot
and low voltage lighting to decorate the two
large royal palm trees.
3. We will be adding aluminium pickets to the rail-
ings on the second floor balcony to improve the
appearance but more importantly the safety.
4. We will be adding a sprinkler system to
maintain the new lawn and lnndscape system.
We will add fill, sod and landscaping to
the South side of the property.
I believe this request is modest and when the total
pro1ect is completed the entire area will have a
greater appeal.
Your approval will be most appreciated.
Very truly yours,
