AGENDA DOCUMENTS / . /,~ ,._~ June 9, 1993 To: Meeting: C/O The City of Boynton Beach Mayor, Vice Mayor and City Commissioners June 15, 1993 Christopher Cutro Planning & Zoning Director Re: Abandonment of Right-of-way in front of the property on the southeast side of Old Dixie Highway, approximately .01 of a mile southwest of the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and U.S. Highway #1. Property Control Number: 00-43-46-04-17-000-0700. · P.B.C.B.C.C. Rezoning petition 89-75. [Description: The south ten feet of the right-of-way of Old Dixie Highway abutting lots 70 & 71 (now lot 70) of the amended plat of Tradewinds Estates, Palm Beach County, Florida, according to Plat Book 21, page 73, of the Public Records of Palm Beach County, Florida; the length running approximately 100 feet along the northwest Old Dixie Highway frontage boundary.] Dear City Commissioners, Regretfully, a previously scheduled commitment prevents my wife or myself from attending the June 15th City Commission meeting where the issue of abandonment of right-of-way is to be decided as referenced above. Approval at this meeting is very important to us, as it will allow our compliance with the terms and timetable set forth by Palm Beach County for the rezoning process under time extension. I respectfully urge you to pass the proposed abandonment requested for the following reasons. · This County requested abandonment will give us much needed space to design better parking and green areas. Approval will allow finishing of the site plan for the PBBCC approved zoning change to commercial, special exception (as described in your packages). · This petition has been approved unanimously at every level along the County procedure of rezoning and by your P&Z Director, Boynton City staff, utilities and was approved unanimously by the Planning & Development Board on June 8th. · Approval puts the process one step closer to our voluntary annexation process that we have discussed with Boynton. I think this is a win/win situation for us and the City of Boynton. We will be able to finish our extensive rezoning process, and the City will be able to ultimately bring in an improved attractive property in its annexation quest. Thank you for your earnest consideration and I hope unanimous approval. Most sincerely, Jam s S.
