DATE: JULY 3,1997 TAMBRI HEYDEN, DIRECfOR CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA RE: COMMUNITY DESIGN PLAN APPEAL PROJECf NAME---- BOB BROWN PERMIT NUMBER-97-0805 PROJECT ADDRESS-BOYNTON BEACH MOBILE VILLAGE, 1801 NE 4111 STREET, BOYNTON BEACH, FL. DESCRIPTION--------- TRASH DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE , '.' ~ (' 1> ?ri q,r L!:) '., t', ) " .', . ., ", DEAR TAMBRI; PURSUANT TO A DISCIUSSION WITH YOUR DEPARTMENT, IN REFERENCE TO THE ABOVE STATED PROJECT, WE, AS OWNERS OF THE MOBILE HOME PARK WISH TO FORMALLY APPEAL THE LAST HURDLE THAT HAS STOPPED THE PROJECT. THE LATEST OBJECTION WAS CALLED TO OUR ATTENTION, LATE IN JUNE, BY VANESSA LIERA, WHO WE WERE WORKING WITH ON A LANDSCAPING PLAN, THE LANDSCAPING PLAN HAS BEEN APPROVED BASED ON A LETTER FROM THE UNDERSIGNED, DATED JUNE 27,1997. TO BRIEFLY SUMMARIZE, MARK SPILLANE AND THE UNDERSIGNED PURCHASED THE MOBLE VILLAGE IN DECEMBER OF 1996, FROM MR. BILL CORRIGAN. THE PROPERTY WAS IN NEED OF A MAJOR FACE LIFT, AND SINCE JANUARY OF THIS YEAR MUCH EFFORT AND MONEY HAS BEEN PUT BACK INTO THE PROPERTY TO UP-GRADE THE APPEARANCE AND ENHANCE THE DRIVE BY LOOK, AS SOME OF THE OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE AREA HAVE DONE. A NEW SIGNAGE PROGRAM AND FRONT FENCING IS PLANNED FOR THIS SUMMER. THE RESIDENTS OF THE VILLAGE ARE QUITE HAPPY WITH WHAT IS BEING DONE, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE OWNERS ARE PERFORMING THE LANDSCAPING DUTIES. WE WANTED THE PARK TO "ALL" LOOK NICE AT THE SAME TIME. INTERNALLY, THE TRASH DUMPSTER AREA WAS ADJACENT TO THE CLUB HOUSE, CENTRALLY LOCATED, BUT QUITE VISABLE FROM ANY DIRECTION, WE FILED AN APPLICATION, VOLUNTARILY, WITH THE CITY TO PLACE AN ENCLOSURE AROUND THE TWO(2) DUMPSTERS, MAINTAINING THE DUMPSTER SITE(pAD) THAT PRESENTLY EXISTS. TO BETTER FACILITATE OUR MORE ELDERLY RESIDENTS, NEW "SIDE LOAD" DUMPSTERS WERE BROUGHT IN, AND WE INVESTED IN HAVING STEEL ROLLERS WELDED TO THE BOTTOMS TO ENABLE US TO PUSH THE DUMPSTERS OUT OF THE ENCLOSURE FOR "LESS DESTRUCTIVE" PICK-UPS. THE PLAN CALLS FOR A STURDY STEEL FRAME, A LACED, GREEN HEAVY AWNING MATERIAL ON THREE SIDES, AND TWO GATES TO CLOSE OFF, VISUALLY, THE FORTH SIDE. NOW TO THE APPEAL; WE WISH TO APPEAL THE CODE COMPLIANCE, CEMENT BLOCK ENCLOSURE, THAT HAS NOW BEEN APPLIED TO OUR PERMIT APPROVAL. THE ENCLOSURE OF THE DUMPSTER IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY, AN ENHANCEMENT OF AN OTHERWISE, UNSITEL Y AREA IN THE CENTER OF OUR COMMUNITY. THE ENCLOSURE WAS TAKEN FROM A DESIGN LOCATED ON A COMMERCIAL PROPERTY IN BOCA RATON. DELRA YAWNING HAS BEEN CONTRACTED TO PUT THE PANELS ON THE FRAME, AND ARE PREPARED TO COMPLETE THEIR PART OF THE PROJECT. THE STEEL FRAMES HAVE BEEN CONSTUCTED, INADVERTENTLY, WE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED THE REQUIREMENT FOR THE PERMIT IN A VOLUNTARY SITUATION. WE ASK THE BOARD TO WAIVE THE "CEMENT BLOCK" REQUIREMENT AND ALLOW US TO COMPLETE AS PROPOSED. ALL OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PERMIT APPROVAL HAVE BEEN MET, WE THANK YOU, IN ADVANCE, FOR THE CONSIDERATION IN THIS MAlTER WE WILL CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS TO CLEAN UP OUR PART OF THE STREET, AND MAKE BOYNTON BEACH A MORE PLEASANT COMMUNITY TO LIVE AND VISIT. WE APPRECIATE THE CITY'S EFFORTS TO FORWARD THIS CONCEPT, AND WILL COOPERATE IN ANY MANNER TO ASSIST THE CITY IN ITS CONTINUING EFFORTS,
