I am writing on behalf of Clear Copy, Inc., to appeal to you for relief
from Section 7.5-35(e) of the lansdscape code. This part of the code (Peri-
meter landscaping relating to abutting properties) calls for a plant strip
not less than two and one-half (2t) feet in width.
Exceptions to this requiremen~ be made when there is an existing
hedge, providing that hedge meets afi-'applicable standards.
We believe that the existing hedge does meet thjose standards, notwith-
standing that the planting strip containing that hedge is narrower than the
minimum strip width.
To force Clear Copy, Inc., to provide a planting strip along the east
boundary of their parking area would reduce the number of parking spaces and
thus place the existing building in violation of the parking ordinance.
We respectfully ask that you grant Clear Copy Inc. relief from this
requirement of the landscape code.
