SUBJECT:
CITY COUNCIL AGENDA FOR REGULAR MEETING OF JUNE 7, 1983
Please put the following item on the City Council Agenda for the above
date.
1. Description: Request for determination of no substantial change
in connection with deleting the master plan requirement to construct a
bicycle path on the west side of Congress Avenue from LWDD CANAL #20
to Hypoluxo Road, and subsequently, to have the Planning and Zoning
Board approve this change. These requests are submitted by Stanley
Franks for C&H Properties Co. (Meadows 300 PUD).
2. Recommendations: The Technical Review Board unanimously
recommended that the City Council make a finding of no substantial
change and that the Planning and Zoning Board approve this request.
3. Explanation of Recommendations: The basis for this recommendation
is that Palm Beach County will be constructing Congress Avenue to a
four-lane section in the near future, and that this construction will
provide for an eight (8) foot bicycle path on the east side of
Congress Avenue and a six (6) foot sidewalk on the west side of
Congress Aven~e. Among the issues discussed was the fact that the
developer by this request will be relieved of approximately $32,000
worth of public improvements.
