BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT APPLICATION

a) Church is a type of construction that requires an unusual style
of building. The style should be different than any standard
looking single family house, specially in residential zoning
area.
b) Special conditions and circumstances are invlolved in the design
of a Church , is not a result of any action of the owner, since
he bought this land in a residential zone. The applicant has also
no control in selecting the shape or the height of the church.
A church is the best suited use of the unusual configuration of
this parcel.
c) No, anyone developing a church which is allowed 1n R-I-A residen-
tial zoning will have height problems.
d) Yes, the shapes of churches are different to reflect different
faith. Considerations in the design of the church are given to
identify the faith, other words, every church should look different
because look alike took away the characteristics of the church
special look or feature. If literal interpretation of this chapter
is not revealed, there will be little individual identity to reflect
the church faith or group.
e) The church front area includes the sanctuary, the choir and other
church facilities. The shape of the structure is a twelve irregular
sided polygon. The construction of the roof have a 12' circular
opening and shall be connected to laminated beam(Lam).The lam beam
length is varied between 50'-66' with variable slope in order to
meet the uncentered circular opening. In order to reduce the height,
the lam beam slope has to be reduced which will almost flatten the
roof and will generally affect the intented shap~ of the architec-
tual appearance.
f) R-I-A zoning permits the construction of churches and other places
of workship. Church does not considered or look like a single family,
home, it's unique and different in shapes and look. Building church
on this parcel does not conflect with the zoning in this area and is
in harmony with the general intent and purpose of R-I-A zoning.
It's beauty will be an asset to the neighborhood and in no way
detrimental to the public welfare in this aren.
