Drainage
The drainage s!:lstem shali
accommodate the fll'st hour of a
three !:leal' storm on site. In BO!:lnton
Beach this shall be assumed to be
2.5 inches of rain in the fil'st hour,
Drainage calculations supporting the
design shall be supplied and
approved b!:l the City Engineer
before a permit is issued.
BjConstruction
All plans shall show finished
elevations in feet and hundredths:
the!:! also shall contain catch basin
and drain field details and design
criteria. See Ilppendix Il
The standard construction consists
of six (6) inches of compacted. Palm
Beach Count!:! approved shell 01' lime
rocK on a compacted sub-grade. The
rOCK shall be compacted to 98Y. of
maximum dry densit!:! as determined
by AASHO T-180. The shell rOCK shall
have a retaining of SOY. when using
a number four sieve and shall have
a minimum calcium carbonate content
of 40Y.. The shell rocK shall also
have a minimum modified proctor of
120 lbs. If lime rocK is used. it shall
meet the l'equirements of the
curl'ent' D.O.T. specifications fot, Road
and Bl'idge Construction. The
compacted base shall be given a
prime coat and one inch of
compact,ed type II asphalt. The
construction procedure shall comply
with the Florida D.O.T. Standard
Specifications for Road and Bridge
Construction.
Other acceptable types of
construction that_ may be approved
by the City Engineer are as follows:
Portland Cement Concrete.
Paving, blocks.
and
Stabilized Sod.

Dimensions
The parking lot stall dimensions and
aisle width5 al'e provided here in
Ilppendix B. Additional information
providing de5ign and la!:l-out
drawings will be found in Ilppendix
C.

Storm drainage catch basins shall be
located in gras5!:! swale locations
{see appendix Ill. No catch basins
shall be located in paved areas
without the approval of the City
Engineer. The maximum siorage
capacity of soil shall be consi~ered
at the rate of one inch of wa~r for
each six (6) inches of soil above the
water table. Drainage calculations
shall be l'equired in all instances.
The drainage calculation5 shall
follow the procedure set fOI'th bg
the South Flol'ida Water Management
District in "Management and Storage
of Surface Waters PERMIT
INFORMATION MANllAL VOLUME IV".
Percolation data (hgdraulic
conductivitg tests) shall be provided.
Either the "Usual Condition Test", or
the "Falling- Head Test" as defined
by Manual Volume IV shall be used.
Curbing
The basic landscape protecting
curbing shall equal or exceed the
City standard as shown on Cit!:!
Engineering Drawing No. A-86030 (13
1/2" x 6" x 8") of 2500 p.s.i. concrete
with 6 inches being above the
parKing lot surface.
