The conditio s of the Ordinance that relates to the fencing of the
Motorola property have been met in that dialogue between the Police
Department and t e representative of Motorola charged with that area
of responsibility has taken place and an agreement has been reached.
We, the Police Department, feel that at present no fence is needed.
There are other industrial sites in the city that are similar, ReI
Corporation is an example. We are not experiencing any significant
amounts of vandalism or theft from those areas and hope that the trend
will continue at the Motorola Site.
Mary Lackey, the representative with whom the discussions were had,
has agreed that in the future, in the event that criminal activity
becomes a proble in the area and in the opinion of the Police Department
the need for fe cing the area becomes necessary to curtail such activity,
Motorola will at that time be willing to fence the property.
