SUBJECT:
Bethesda Hospital 3rd and 4th floor expansion - MMSP 00-015
After preliminary review ofthe submitted documentation for the above mentioned project, I have
determined that this can be reviewed as a minor modification. The plans call for expansion of
building square footage while not increasing the number of beds. The proposed plans for the
hospital retain existing setbacks, bed count and the parking requirements.

Dear Mr. Rumpf:
As we have discussed at our meetings, Bethesda Hospital is planning two phases of
construction here to start within 4-6 months of each other. The first phase, which I
am hereby requesting a minor site modification approval, is an addition to the
existing third and forth floors. This construction is about five percent or less of the
hospital's total square footage. This addition will not in any way increase patient
volumes, visitors or any new services, but allows us to have about 50% private
rooms for patient comfort and satisfaction. Included with this request are the new
floor plans and elevations along with a $100.00 check as required.
Phase II will follow shortly after this and at that time we will submit a major
modification application with you.
If there are any questions, please feel free to call.
Thank you,
