California RE. Shoppes of Woolbright (Home Depot) MMSP 00-019 Dear Ms. Galav, Pursuant to your letter of April 24, 2000, please find enclosed 4 copies of the revised Landscape Plan, dated May 23, 2000, which address staff comments by Mr Hallahan in a Memo dated April 18, 2000 I have summarized below the steps we have taken to address each of these comments. Comment 1 The following general note has been added to the plan "INSPECT AND REPAIR IRRIGATION SYSTEM TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE WATER TO ALL LANDSCAPING" Comment 2 & 3 The Liriope groundcover has been replaced with a dwarf form of Bougainvillea to provide a vivid display of colorful flowers in the winter and sporadic blooming throughout the year Yellow Trumpet trees and Washington Palms will be located adjacent to these medians Comment 4 The Shellings Holly has been replaced with a dwarf form of Bougainvillea to provide a vivid display of colorful flowers in the winter and sporadic blooming throughout the year The Yellow Trumpet trees in the existing medians along the front of the store will remain or be relocated to the new islands at the front of the store as noted on the plan Bollards, as suggested, have not effectively prevented trampling of plant material at other Home Depot's and have damaged automobiles that hit them, exposing Home Depot to liability claims. Therefore, I request that bollards not be required at this time. Bougainvillea has been chosen for this area because of its characteristics as a highly durable and resilient plant in addition to its ornamental features Comment 5 No response needed Comment 6 Some temporary structures have been placed outside the building during the remodeling. These will be removed when the store remodeling is complete at the end of August. The materials stored outside the building will be screened or removed. Comment 7 The chain link fence is temporary and will be removed when the store remodeling is completed at the end of August. 01 Letler 03.22.00 ',\Admin\980\980766\980766 Letle' To Lusia Galav 5 23_2000ADoc Comment 8 The parking lot for the Home Depot will be resealed and re-striped at the completion of remodeling and construction phases. Construction of the Tool Rental Center and new canopy are scheduled to be completed by early November Additional notes have been added to the landscape plan per comments by other departments. Please call me at (770) 303-1033 if you need any additional information Thank you for your assistance Sincerely, GREENBERG FARROW ARCHITECTURE ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT ~~e/~ David C. The followmg recommendatIOns are based upon my field mspectIOn of the sIte and knowledge of the eXIstmg landscape materIals, and ImgatIOn system. 1 The entIre eXIstmg IrrIgatIOn system throughout sIte should be mspected and repaIred as needed to provIde adequate water to the landscapmg.
