RE Remodeling of Shell Facilities at:

Dear Ms Hayden:
This is to inform you of Shell oil Company's proposal to
repair and remodel the two facilities mentioned above. The
scope of work is essentially the same in both It entails
the application of cladding materials onto the building
facades and canopy surfaces, the complete refurbishment of
all structures at each site accomplished by painting,
cleaning and replacement of elements showing signs of ageing
and/or deterioration, the removal and replacement of all
existing fuel dispensers and the application-of a new finish
to the vehicuTiir- use area
Pictures have been enclosed both of the sites in their
present condition and of some sites in the area and one in
Boynton Beach on which a similar remodeling process has been
completed Also enclosed, you will find copies of the plans
which depict the proposed scope of work Color samples and
renderings submitted may be of help in your evaluation of
the aesthetic merit of these projects
I would like to po~nt out that no modificat1.on in square
footage is being proposed to any structure. The footprint of
all existing buildings will remain unaltered as will that of
the existing canopies The fuel dispensers will be replaced
like-for-like with new upgraded dispensers.
As mentioned above, a similar project has already been
carried out in the City of Boynton Beach. It involved the
conversion of an existing fuel station on the intersection
of Woolbright and Seacrest into a Shell facility with
elements and materials identical to those proposed herein
This station is indicative of the sort of clean and modern
appearance we seek for our other stations in the area

projects and they have conveyed th~ interests at stake for
the City of Boynton Beach. It 1S Shell's intention to
improve the appearance of these sites through the proposed
refurbishment work, thus allowing these facilities to
contribute toward the enhancement of their respective
neighborhoods. I will be happy to address any particular
concerns your department might have with respect to the work
proposed and to provide any additional materials which might
be helpful in addressing your concerns about these sites.
Thus, we await your advise as to the appropriate procedure
to follow regarding the revision and requested approval of
the subject proposals. Immediately upon receiving
notification from your office, we shall move toward
submitting the appropriate plans to obtain all approvals and
