Enclosed please find a check in the amount of $500.00, which is the reimbursement of
the application fee for Abandonment. As you will recall, this reimbursement is pursuant
to City Commission action taken on September 19, 2000.
Although I have documentation verifying that this process was initiated on September 27,
just eight days following the Commission action, this process was inadvertently left
unfinished. I apologize for this delay and any inconvenience it has caused you.
With respect to the church expansion, please recall that a representative was to provide
me with a site survey to be used for consideration of the need for variances, and that the
agreement for use of the adjacent right-of-way would be signed if acceptable and
returned to me.

RECOMMENDATION: Please place this request on the September 19, 2000 City Commission agenda under Public
Hearing. The Planning and Development Board with a unanimous vote recommended that this request be denied, therefore
concurring with staff, based on existing and planned use of this corridor for utility infrastructure, and to avoid further
roadlalley abandonments until after completion of the MLK area redevelopment plan. The Board also recommends that the
application fee be refunded due to the reasons for denial being outside the control of the church, which would have likely
