RE Planning and Development Board meetmg and comments
for "Conna Collin Center Medical Building"
Dear Sirs
I have heard, with surprise, about the comments generated during the "Planning and
Development Board" meeting from January 22nd related to the color schedule for my
medical offices building, "Conna Collin Center"
I would like to convey to you that neither myself nor my team of designers would like
nothmg less than the best for the millions that I am investing in this structure and
consequently for the CIty of Boynton Beach.
I have selected to invest in Boynton Beach for the definite growth potential, but also for
the pleasant scale and harmony of its' urban texture That is why I considered very
adequate to the spirit of the community and of the adjacent structures, to give my building
a true Mediterranean appearance in volumetry, detailing, and colors inside and especially
outsIde
In my quest to achieve the best design, I looked for somebody with extensive qualifications
m the field of European archItecture and restoration. I selected Mr EnrICO Popescu and
his group of architects and engineers Among Mr Popescu's qualifications and list of
recent projects related to my scope of work are
· Certified by the European Community Board for Historic Restoration.
· Architectural license in the European community
· Interior Design license for the State of Florida.
· Worked with the Historic Committee of MiamI Beach for the restoration
"Breakwater', "Casa Grande", and "Tudor" hotels m South Beach.
~

Page 2
· The only American designer invited to work with the International Team of
Designers hired for the restoration of the "Hotel Georges V" in Paris, by
"Bouygues Construction", the largest construction company in the world, in charge
of the "Color Schedule and Historic Compliance"
· Chief designer for the palace of Prince M. Abdulah Al Saoud, RIyadh, Saudi
Arabia.
. Presidential palace, Bucharest, Romania.
He produced for me a design that combined, exceptionally, the scale and flavor of
centuries old Italian Mediterranean architecture with the epitome of medical technology, an
MRI facility
During extensive traveling, I have personally gathered a large amount of information,
pictures, and art. Although I do not qualify myself as a expert in the field of architecture
beyond the level of "admirer of beautiful buildings", analyzing the lessons of harmony and
diversity of Mediterranean towns I consider that.
· Our building belongs in the true Mediterranean category that I envisioned in
scale and detailing.
· The colors are true "earth tones" that you could identify from the homes in
Sardmia and south of France to the praised architecture of Addison Mizner in Palm
Beach.
· The "red" color in the rendering is just a schedule. The true "red" is brick
red inspired by the clay roofs and the famous "Pompeii Red" of the Romans
and as per the sample attached is a continuation in paint version of the color
of the roof tile as an accent color on the "rotunda".
· Its' concrete moldings and detailing are similar to the bank building adjacent
to our property The roof tiles, even if darker, continue the idea of integration in
the same urban tissue with the extra personality that brings variety
In the light of the above and helped by the books and documentation that are
annexed in this letter, I hope you will agree with our design not only architecturally
but from the point of how it integrates and brings personality of the City of Boynton
Beach.
Respectfully,
/~" ~. =c.:
