Re: Minor plan modification for landscaping for East Ridge PUD
Dear Mr. Rumpf,
As you mayor may not know, we have finally closed the purchase of the above
referenced site. We appreciate your efforts and that of your department in helping us sort
through the old problems. Now the hard work begins.
The original landscape permit 99-00001178 was extended on or about 6/2/2000 but
ultimately expired. The original plan was partially implemented. The irrigation system
was never installed. As a result most of the trees and shrubs died during the drought.
Eric Johnson of planning, Kevin Hallahan the city forester, Kevin Holler the landscape
architect, and I met last week to review our modifications to the original plan.
The following minor plan modifications have been made to upgrade and enhance the
property. (See tables I & II) The specific goals are to:
. Upgrade the landscape adjacent to N.E. Fourth Street to meet the current code:
plant sizes and quantities, shrub layering, signature trees, etc.
. Create an interior streetscape of foxtail palms to reflect the streetscape on
Gateway Blvd.
. Replace previously relocated trees that have died with native trees and shrubs to
create a larger, more diverse wildlife habitat.
. Provide denser visual and sound buffer along the railroad tracks.
. Add entrance features.
