Dear Ms. Smith:
In response to your request dated April 25, 2005 for the
administrative review and approval of the modifications proposed to
the above-referenced approved site plan, depicting the following:
· Paint the north and west faces of the building overall in "Extra
White" SW 7006 (as depicted on the attached plan) .
· Paint the bottom 48" of the north end of the building (Tire
Kingdom portion of the building) "Dovetail Gray" SW 7018 (as
depicted on the attached plan) .
· Paint the rear of the building "Dovetail Gray" SW 7018 and the
south side of the building "Extra White" SW 7006.
· Paint a 16" red stripe " Pompeii Red" SW 2911 directly above the
48" bottom "Dovetail Gray" on the north end of the building, the
Tire Kingdom portion of the building, (as depicted on the
attached plan) .
· Recover the awning frame over the Tire Kingdom storefront in
yellow (as depicted on the attached plan) .
· Modify the awning frame to remove a 10-15 foot section at the
south end of Tire Kingdom to provide a break between it and the
beginning of the new gray awning material covering the remainder
of the frame, selected to closely match the "Dovetail Gray"
paint (as depicted on the attached plan) .
· Paint the stucco band near the top of the remainder of the
building running south from Tire Kingdom "Dovetail Gray" SW
7018.
Please be informed that the proposed changes on the revised plan date
stamped 8/27/03 are "minor" as defined within the Land Development
Regulations, Chapter 4 - Site Plan Review.

site signage to a monument sign, which is more in keeping with the
City vision for Congress Avenue, secondly which may assist you in
your concern regarding increased visibility, and lastly would have
fewer conflicts with the new trees that you will be installing to

Dear Mr, Breese,
As per our telephone discussion, below is the description of our plans to update and improve the
exterior visual appearance of our building.
A photo mock-up of the scheme reflected below was previously submitted to your department in the
letter of August 27,2003.
Our plan is to:
. Paint the north and west faces of the building overall in "ExtraWhite" (Sherwin-Williams 7006)
. Paint the bottom 48" of the north end of the front face of the building (the Tire Kingdom
section), the north face, and the two rear faces of the building in "DoveTail Gray" (SW7018).
. Paint a 16" Red stripe directly above the 48" bottom Dovetail Gray section of the front and
north faces as shown in the photo.
. Recover the awning over the Tire Kingdom storefront in yellow.
. Recover the remainder of the awning in the front of the building in gray that matches the
dovetail gray as closely as possible
. Modify the awning frame so that the last large window area of the Tire Kingdom area
(approximately 10'-16') is not included under the awning. This will provide a spaoe between
the two awning sections (and hence, colors) of 10' to 15'.
. Paint the raised stripe on the top of the building over the gray awning in the "dovetail gray",

The large space between the two awning sections, as well as the two slightly different paint schemes
will serve to add architectural interest to the building and to break up the long "railroad car" effect that
currently exists on the building while at the same time presenting a modern, co-coordinated
appearance.

plans date stamped 10/22/03 are "minor", as defined within the Land Development Regulations, Chapter 4-
Site Plan Review.
Please be advised that the exterior building color selections as submitted for review are unacceptable. The
colors are not compatible with the general character of the surrounding properties as required by Land
Development Regulations Chapter 9, Community Design Plan Section 11.
Staff recommends that the red banding! stripe proposed near the top of the wall, just above the sign area, be
replaced with the same gray ("Dovetail gray") proposed for the lower portion of the building.

. Recover the entire awning along the front of the building, Face A. in red (the current color).
. Paint Face A of the building overall in "ExtraWhite" (SW7006)
. Paint the bottom 48" of the north end of Face A (the Tire Kingdom section) in "DoveTail Gray"
(SW7018).
. Paint a 16" Red stripe directly above the 48" bottom Dovetail Gray section of the north (Tire

Regulations, Chapter 4- Site Plan Review.
Please be advised that the exterior building color selections as submitted for review are unacceptable. The
colors are not compatible with the general character of the surrounding properties as required by Land
Development Regulations Chapter 9, Community Design Plan Section 11.
Staff recommends that you limit your color selection to two colors for the entire building. In addition, the
awning should be the same color throughout the building. Further, the gray banding! stripe proposed near
the top ofthe wall should continue throughout the building. However, ifthe intention is to differentiate the
Tire Kingdom from the other tenants, the proposed color scheme (Red and "Dovetail gray") for the lower
portion of the building is acceptable.

As per our telephone discussion, we have significantly altered the proposed color scheme of the
above-referenced property in order to address the concerns of your department.
Enclosed is a photo showing the newly proposed changes. Color swatches of all the identified colors
are also attached. (The paint colors are specified as Sherwin-Williams; the gray paint color swatch
shown in the new proposal doesn't exactly match the original swatch, but the original is the correct
color. Swatches of the "Dovetail Gray" are not readily available.)
