Dear Mr. Sadler:
In response to your request dated September 19, 2003 for the
administrative review and approval of the modifications proposed to
the above-referenced approved site plan, depicting the following :
. Replacement of concrete walk with wood decking.
Please be informed that the proposed changes on the revised plan
date stamped 9/19/03 are "minor" as defined within the Land
Development Regulations, Chapter 4- Site Plan Review. This project
may continue to be processed by the Building Division as a permit
application, subject to the following conditions:
1. The City assumes no maintenance responsibility or liability
associated with this change.
2.Acceptance and compliance with the comments from Laurinda Logan,
P.E., Senior Engineer, dated 9/23/03 (attached).
Be advised that the proposed changes may require a modification to
the building permit. Please contact me at (561) 742-6260 if you have
additional questions.

Thanks for the opportunity to review this minor modification. Public Works, Engineering and Utilities
have no objection to this minor modification but would like to make the following comments on the
proposed plans:
1. Please note that changes or revisions to these plans may generate additional comments.
Acceptance of these plans during the Minor Modification process does not ensure that additional
comments may not be generated at permit review.
2. Define the limits of the fill and compact area between the existing seawall and proposed pin piles.
This area probably consists of a mixture of compacted backfill and pea gravel backfill now to an
unclearly defined depth and width.
3. Note 2, Soils and Backfill, allow backfill to be placed in 18 inch lifts for compaction. Staff
recommends that backfill be placed in lifts no greater than 6 inches. Equipment capable of
compacting 18 inch lifts of material will not be able to be used in the limited space available.
4. The pin piles as shown as 3 Y2 foot diameter on Sheet 2 of 2 (several places). Staff believes this is a
typo and 3 Y2 inch diameter is intended
