Dear Mr. Silva:
In response to your revised request dated August 19, 2003 for the
administrative review and approval of the modifications proposed to
the above-referenced approved site plan, depicting the following:
· Addition to the building for ADA restrooms (as depicted on the
attached drawings) .
· Reconfiguration of parking lot, including additional asphalt
strip and grass parking to code (as depicted on the attached
drawings) .
· Installation of new landscaping and irrigation (as depicted on
the attached drawings) .
· Construction of a new dumpster enclosure (as depicted on the
attached drawings) .
· Construction of a swaled drainage area (as depicted on the
attached drawings) .
Please be informed that the proposed changes on the revised plans
date stamped 11/10/03 are "minor" as defined within the Land
Development Regulations, Chapter 4 Si te Plan Review. This
project may continue to be processed by the Building Division as a
permit application, subject to the following conditions:
1. The new building addition walls match the existing in finish and
color.
2. All of the improvements indicated on the attached plans are
completed as part of this project.
3. The hedge material must be planted with the branches touching to
form a dense barrier.

4. The parking provided in this project reflect the 32 spaces
indicated on the plan as opposed to the 40 noted in the August 19,
2003 cover letter.
Be advised that the proposed changes may require a modification to

Dear Mr. Silva:
The City of Boynton Beach staff has reviewed the latest revision to your plans to construct an
addition to your building to accommodate new restroom facilities. Although the proposed
addition of asphalt to the existing parking created an acceptable parking configuration and
circulation pattern, this additional asphalt has triggered a comment from the Engineering
Department. Per City Ordinance 00-044, the increase of impervious area (adding of asphalt) by
more than 800 square feet to your site, requires the submittal of an engineered drainage plan to
determine how stormwater is being retained on-site and how the improvements proposed to be
constructed with your project materially affect those drainage flows.
Additionally, the engineered drainage plan may determine that on-site drainage improvements
need to be made. Of course, there is also a possibility that improvements may not be required.
Staff understands the importance of your project, but cannot waive this code requirement.
Please let us know how you wish to proceed on this matter. Do not hesitate to contact me with

In response to your plan submittal date-stamped July 15, 2003 for the administrative review and
approval of the modifications proposed to the above-referenced approved site plan, depicting the
following:
. Addition of restroom facilities;
Please be informed that the proposed changes on the revised plan date stamped 07/15/03 have been
determined not to be "minor" as defined within the Land Development Regulations, Chapter 4- Site
Plan Review. This project may not continue to be processed by the Building Division as a permit
application, due to the following issues:
1. The proposed addition is in excess of the code limitation that restricts any new construction to less
than a five (5)% increase of existing square footage of the building to be considered a "minor"
modification to your site plan; and
2. The site is currently deficient in the number of required parking spaces for the amount of existing
floor area, plus the proposed footprint ofthe addition eliminates two (2) additional spaces.
Additionally, there is an outstanding issue concerning the relocation and construction of a dumpster
pad and the associated enclosure and landscaping that is required. This issue should be addressed at
the same time permits are being requested for the proposed addition.

Attached please find the site plan requested by your department. With the addition of sod
parking off the driveway at the north side of the building, it provides us with the number
of parking spaces needed to comply with the zoning regulations. The site plan also
denotes the foDowing improvements to the property:
A. A trash container enclosure at the northeast comer of our property.
B. Parking for 40 vichicles.
c. 2' x 2.5' dia. bushes to be planted at the north property line.
D. Shade trees to be planted at 30' intervals along the north property line.
E. Irrigation line to run from the main building to the north property line, and
branch east and west to cover all plantings at the property line.
In conclusion, we, at Post 164, have been working on this project for a year. It is our hope
that we can construct these handicap restrooms for our disabled veterans. It has been a
long road to reach this point, and with the inclusion of the site pl~ we sincerely hope that
you wiD approve our request so that construction can start soon. Thank you very much
for your assistance with this project which is desperately needed by our comrades.
