Just a heads up.
This week, I met with the Nautica HOA regarding traffic in their development, both on the private streets as well as Nautica
Blvd which is a City street. Commissioner Fisher was at this meeting as well.
The HOA inquired about the potential of gating the entrance to their development. I told them that the City would consider
this request, especially considering that the subdivision is isolated from any other street system or subdivision. However, I
advised them that if they were to receive City approval that they must assume maintenance jurisdiction for Nautica Blvd.
This would have to be a private street. Commissioner Fisher said that they would poll their residents and, if a favorable
response is received, they will pursue gating through P&D.
I support the concept. I see no reason for the City to continue maintaining Nautica Blvd. There are only positive traffic
impacts to this proposed plan.

COMMENTS: Adam Fishman indicated that the Homeowners Association wants
to close one ofthe entrances of this residential development. The Board claims to be
experiencing excessive vehicular speeds along Springfield Blvd (drag racing). In
addition, they feel that this entrance / exit closure would decrease burglaries and
vandalism inside the development.
Mike advised that Springfield Blvd may never connect to Meadows Blvd. The park
would be limited to the adiacent residential neil!hborhoods.
The Board desires to erect a chain-link fence 6 feet in heil!ht.
Jeff Liverl!ood advised that he would want to have the consensus of the community.
Staff would need to research the development during master plan modification
review. We would require 12 sets of plans and charge a $500 fee. The Commission
would determine ifthe DroDosal was maior or minor.
Jeff Livergood volunteered to conduct an analysis of the neighborhood's traffic
patterns, counts, and speeds in order to help the Board make an informed
.justification for the street closure.
