Dear Mr. Worrell:
In response to your request dated July 7, 2003 for the
administrative review and approval of the modifications proposed to
the above-referenced approved site plan, depicting the following :
. Removal of the brick from the columns and locating it on the
wall under the glazing;
. Changing of the round glass feature on the tower to a raised
plaster element of the same size and round shape with a cross
element within;
. Adding a vinyl fabric / aluminum frame canopy on the east
elevation to provide a small covered walkway from the new
building to the existing building.
Please be informed that the proposed changes on the revised plan
date stamped 07/17/03 are "minor" as defined within the Land
Development Regulations, Chapter 4- Site plan Review. This project
may continue to be processed by the Building Division as a permit
application, subject to the following conditions:
1. If the scope of the project demands removal of plant material, then such plant material must be
relocated to an area subject to approval of the City Forester;
2. The awning color match the color proposed for certain building components (Tavern Taupe - SW
2029); and
3. Withdrawal of the request to delete the buttress element over the lower sloped roof, to retain as much
of the original appearance approval as possible, given the above requested modifications.
Additionally, this final recommendation is based on the position that rooflines and/or walls should
be "broken-up" by articulation or other architectural elements to prevent continuous plain building
surfaces.

Dear Mr. Johnson:
Based on the building permit review for the above referenced project, we have
been requested to submit for a minor design modification to the approved site
plan. These are very minor and they are as follows.
1. We have taken the brick off of the column bases and located it
between the columns under the glazing.
2. The round element on the tower has been changed from the gray
tinted glass to a raised plaster element having the same round shape
with a cross element within.
3. Added vinyl fabric / aluminum frame canopy on east elevation to
provide a small covered walkway from new building to existing
building. We will try to match this vinyl fabric with a color already
called for (Tavern Taupe - SW 2029).
These modifications were made during the development of the construction
documents and they are shown within the attached elevation drawings (11 x 17)
numbered A3.1 and A3.2
There is an alternate that the church is considering due to cost overruns. The
second set of exterior elevation sheets (labeled alternate) shows a possible
deleting the buttress element over the lower sloped roof. The church has not at
this time accepted this alternate, but I wanted to run this by you in case they do.
Also attached is an 8 Y:," x 11" color sheet that was part of the approved site plan
for your reference.
