Dear Mr. Cutro:
This letter is to confirm our phone conversations concerning the rooftop helistop at
Bethesda Memorial Hospital, in which you verified that the proposed project is in
accordance with the applicable zoning regulations. It is our understanding that no

Re: BETHESDA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL EMERGENCY HELISTOP RELOCATION
P & L PROJECT NO. 91-048
Dear Ms. Gomes:
The relocation of the Bethesda Memorial Hospital's emergency
helistop to the roof above the emergency department would be in
conformance with the public usage zoning district.
The Code of ordinances, Article V, Aircraft Regulations, Section
15.70 (a), Alrcraft and Helicopter Landings at Authorized
Locatlons Only, exempts those instances where the aircraft or
helicopter is involved in the performance of rescue, search, law
enforcement, medical evacuation or civil defense duties.
Therefore the helistop is allowable as an accessory use to the
hospital.
If I can be of further assistance, please advise.
Sincerely,

RE: Bethesda Memorial Hospital
Emergency Helistop Relocation
P+L Project No. 91-048
Dear Mr. Cutro:
Peacock + Lewis Architects are planning a relocation of Bethesda Memorial Hospital's
emergency helistop. The existing ground landing pad will be de-activated and new
helistop will be constructed on the roof above the emergency department.
The project is being reviewed by both the FAA. and D.O.T. Both agencies require a
letter of approval by the local planning and zoning department. We understand from
our meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 1991 with Tambri Heyden that the rooftop
helistop is a permitted use for the hospital in the zoning classification PU - Public
Usage.
We would appreciate a letter from your department confirming the zoni~pproval of
this project and informing us if there are any special procedures w~\d to pursue
