Mr. Fetrow:
At the Community Appearance Board meeting held on November 14, 1991,
your request for approval for the deletion of the hedge line along
the North property line was approved subject to the stipulation that
vines be planted on the South side of the water retention wall and
chain link fence, spaced at five (5) feet on center and installed at
a minimum height of two (2) feet.

REQUEST FOR APPEAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE DECISION
DESCRIPTION: Request submitted by Robert E. Fetrow, agent for
Curt G. Joa, Inc., for approval to allow for the deletion of
hedge line along the north property line. The project is located
at 1500 N. High Ridge Road.
DETERMINATION: The Board approved, (5-1), the variance request as
submitted by Mr. Fetrow, subject to the stipulation that the
applicant plant vines on the south side of the water retention
wall and chain link fence, spaced at five (5) feet on center and
installed at a minimum height of two (2) feet.
Motion was made by Eleanor Shuman and seconded by Dale Mitchell.
George Davis cast the dissenting vote.

(e) Perimeter landscaping relating to abutting properties.
On the site of a building or structure or open lot use_
providing an off-street parking area or other vehicular use
area. such area shall be provided with a landscaped barrier,
preferably a hedge not less than four (4) feet nor greater
than six (6) feet in height to form a continuous screen
between the off-street parking area or other vehicular use
area and such abutting property. Such landscape barrier
shall be located between the cQmmon lot line. and the
off-street parking area or other vehicular use area in a
planting strip of not less than two and one-half (2'h) feet in
width. The provisions of this subsection shall not be
applicable in the following situations:
(1) When a property line ab~iS'a dedicated alley.
(2) Where a proposed parking area or other vehicular
use area abuts an existing hedge, said existing
hedge may be used to satisfy the landscape
requirements of this subsection provided that said
existing hedge meets all applicable standards of
this article.

Dear Mike:

Pursuant to the Landscaping Code for the City of Boynton
Beach: Section 7.5-34, Article II, (e) Perimeter Landscaping
Relating to Abutting Properties, the following request for
relief from these requirements for specific areas for the
Curt G. Joa, Inc.'s New Assembly Plant Addition is being
requested.
1) Due to the installation of a concrete water retention wall
per SFWMD requirements for control of the 25 year 3 day
storm, the landscaping hedge requirements within the 2.5'
landscaping strip which we have provided along the north
property line can not be accomplished. The height of the
retaining wall along this property line varies between 6" and
4'. We are requesting deletion of the hedge along this
property line which abuts the rear of the Gould Plastic's
building. Due to the blockage of the adjacent property
structure, the vehicular paved entranceway would not visible
to the pUblic mor the neighboring property owner. .
2) In addition, along the south property line, the approved
site plan drawings show a hedge line and trees being
installed along the south property line where the rear of the
building paved area abuts the C-16 canal. Due to use of this
area for non-vehicular traffic and the existing overhead
power lines, deletion of these plants along this strip is
being requested.
Attached to this letter is a copy of the revised landscaping
plan for your use. A formal submittal for a revised
landscaping plan is being made to the Building Department.
