Dear Mr. Duff:
In response to your request dated August 3, 2005 for the
administrative review and approval of the modifications proposed to
the above-referenced approved site plan, depicting the following:
· Installation of telecommunication equipment and 8 foot high
chain link fence enclosure (15' X 35') with neutral colored
privacy slats in the service court adjacent to JCPenneys, behind
a 10 foot CBS wall (as depicted on the attached plan) .
Please be informed that the proposed changes on the revised plan
date stamped 8/10/05 are "minor" as defined within the Land
Development Regulations, Chapter 4 Site Plan Review. This
project may continue to be processed by the Building Division as a
permit application.
Be advised that the proposed changes may require a modification to
the building permit. Please contact me at (561) 742-6260 if you

Please find enclosed 4 sets of site plans, floor plans and elevations for your review, as instructed by Lynn
Hays.
This project consists of enclosing a 15 x 35 area behind a 10' concrete wall. The enclosure will be an 8'
chain link fence with neutral colored privacy slats, the purpose of which is to enclose weatherproof
telecommunication equipment.

Mr. Chown, what could be the last question. There is currently capacity at that location for two vehicles, for
loading/unloading perhaps. How is this loss being handled by Mall operations? I realize this is a question to be

Jill has asked me to answer your questions. I am the SpectraSite project manager assigned to the Boynton
Beach Site.
The 15' x 35' space is required due to the following:
The current carrier interest is for two spaces, Verizon and Sprint. Each carrier is allocated a 3' x 10' area in
which to install their equipment that will be connected to the antenna system installed in the mall through
the SpectraSite cabinet. We design the space to accommodate 5 carriers.
Your understanding of the use of the in building antenna system is correct. It is for the use of the patrons of
the mall.

Jill, staff is reviewing the information currently. Question, why is a 15' x 35' space needed for just the small
equipment shelter? Just filling in the blanks in our understanding, and can you explain in layman's terms
the service to be provided. Is this just internal cell service to prevent interference from the structure for mall
patrons using cell phones? Or is it more for mall operations?

Mike, think it is easier to forward this via e-mail- attached are photos of the area, the drawing package that we
will be submitting for permit and the Simon site plan. If you cannot review until next week, please just get
back to me at your earliest convenience.
The ER is described as an unmanned electronic equipment enclosure. The physical changes are behind an
existing 10ft block wall, consisting of the construction of a chain link fenced enclosure that is l5x35ft. The
chain link fence has privacy slats installed. Any installed equipment will be out of site either below the
existing block wall or the new fence.

Mike, as indicated in my voicemail message yesterday, we are inquiring about
any zoning regulations/ procedures concerning the installation of equipment
in the southeast service court between JC Penney and Macy's (please see
attached map). We have a lease with Boynton Beach Mall to provide an
internal cell service network and will be placing a 2 x 2 x 7 cabinet in
this area to house the carriers' equipment. It will be screened from view
by the block wall and privacy slats.
Kindly advise at your earliest convenience if this will have to go through a
zoning review and what is needed to obtain necessary permits.
