5. (A) The special conditions that exist for Main street
Car Wash involve the layout of our property in regards
to adjacent properties on the north side of Boynton
Beach Blvd. If we place our sign at the setback now
required our sign would be hidden by other buildings,
trees and signs in the area.
(B) Special circumstances have arisen regarding our
property since Boynton Beach has initiated its
Beautification Plan of the downtown area. We
wholeheartly endorse and support this plan and would
like to help by the planting of trees to our southwest
corner at Boynton Beach Boulevard and Northeast 1st
street; however, this planting of the trees would
hinder patrons from seeing our sign.
(C) We wish to relocate our sign to the original
location that it occupied prior to October 1990. The
granting of the variances requested would not give us
any special privilege that is denied other business as
you can see by the enclosed photographs. Many
businesses enjoy the variances we are requesting.
We are requesting the following variances:
(1) Reduce the present code setback from the street
from 10 ft to 0 ft and also 10 ft from the east
property line to 1 1/2 ft. Placing the sign with the
full 10 ft setbacks would be obstructing the flow of
the cars exiting the wash tunnel.
(2) Allow us a 9.4 % variance on the present code
size of a 64 sq ft sign. This will let us use our
existing sign which is 70 sq ft. The variance allows
us to ask for up to 25% increase in size.
(3) Allow us a 25% variance on the present code
height of 20 ft. Our current height is now at 30 ft
so we would be lowering the height by 5 ft. The
variance allows us to ask for up to 25% increase in
height.
(D) To place the sign at the present setback and to
reduce its size and height would cause undo hardship on
the carwash as our most important vehicle of
advertisement would then be hidden by trees, awnings
and other nearby businesses and buildings.

(E) The location, size and height of our sign is the
minimum variance that would allow our customers the
ability to see our sign at a distance of one block away
when traveling both east and west on Boynton Beach
Blvd.
(F) As our sign was at this location originally, we
feel that placing it back to this location would in no
way harm any other business in the area, and the
planting of more trees in the southwest corner of our
property would definitely be in harmony with the
general intent of the beautification of our city.

5. (A) The special conditions that exist for Main Street
Car Wash involve the layout of our property in regards
to adjacent properties on the north side of Boynton
Beach Blvd. If we place our sign at the setback now
required our sign would be hidden by other buildings,
trees and signs in the area.
(B) Special circumstances have arisen regarding our
property since Boynton Beach has initiated its
Beautification Plan of the downtown area. We
wholeheartly endorse and support this plan and would
like to help by the planting of trees to our southwest
corner at Boynton Beach Boulevard and Northeast 1st
Street; however, this planting of the trees would
hinder patrons from seeing our sign.
(C) We wish to relocate our sign to the original
location that it occupied prior to October 1990. The
granting of the variance requested would not give us
any special privilege that is denied other business as
yOU can see by the enclosed photographs. Many
businesses enjoy the variance we are requesting.

CD) To place the sign at the present se~ack would
cause undo hardship on the car wash as ur most
important vehicle of advertisement ~ould then be
hidden by trees and other nearby businesses and
buildings.
(E) The location that our sign ccupled before October
1990 is the minimum variance that would allow our
customers the ability to see our sign at a distance of
one block away when traveling both east and west on
Boynton Beach Blvd.
CF) As our sign was at this location originally we feel
that placing it back to this location would in no way
harm any other business in the area and the planting of
more trees in the southwest corner of our property
would definitely be in harmony with the general intent
of the beautification of our city.
