AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 31 OF THE CODIFIED
ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY BY PROVIDING FOR AN
ADDITIONAL ZONING-DISTRICT TO BE DESIGNATED
ZONE R-2A, MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT)
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH ; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE, AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA :-
Section i: Chapter 31 of the Codified Ordinances of the CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, constituting the master zoning ordinance of s~id
City, is hereby amended by adding thereto an additional section to be desig-
nated Section 3I-6A to read:
Sec. 31-6A. tVIULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT.
A. USES PERMITTED.
Within any R-2A Multiple Family Dwelling District, no
building structure, land or water may be used except for
one or more of the following uses:
(1) Any use permitted in Zones R-iAA, R-IA and 1%-1
Single Family Dwelling Districts.
(2) Two-family dwellings, multiple dwellings, garage
apartments as an accessory use located on the rear of
a lot having a principal structure located on the front half.
Two-family and multiple family dwellings in R-2A shall
not exceed twenty-five (25) feet in height (2 1/2 stories)
with a maximum of eight families per principal unit and
there shall be a minimum of twelve feet between principal
units.
B. BUILDING REGULATIONS.
Building height, building site area, yard and lot coverage
regulations, general provisions, off street parking and
minimum floor area requirements for Zone R-2A shall
be identical to those provided in Zone 1%-2 in Section 31-6
of this Code, pertaining to multiple family units.
Section 2: Separability. Each of the provisions of this Ordinanc~
are separable, including word, clause, phrase, or sentence, and if any
portion hereof shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall not be
affected but shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3: 1%epealing Provisions. Ail Ordinances or parts of
Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: Authority to Codify, Specific authority is hereby
granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's existing Code.
In connection with the codification of this Ordinance Section 13-3 of the
City's existing Code shall be amended to indicate that nine (9) Districts
now exist rather than eight (8) Districts as indicated therein, and the R-2A
Multiple Family Dwelling Zone shall be included in said zoned designations.
Section 5: Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective
in the manner and at the time provided by the Charter and Ordinances of the
CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
