AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION
4-14 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES~ OF SAID CITY
PERTAINING TO -THE KEEPING OF LIVESTOCK
AND POULTRY IN SAID CITY AND pROHIBITING
SUCH LIVESTOCK FROM RUNNING AT LARGE;
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY,
A SAVINGS CLAUSE, AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
PREAMBLE
This ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure
enacted for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, property, health or safety of the inhab~t~~2t~ of
the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, and for the effective
daily operation of the municipal police department.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Tha~ Section 4-14 of the codified ordinances
of the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, be, and the same is hereby
amended to read:
Section 4-14~ Keeping of~ livestock and poultry in. City -
l_~xres~o~ running at large impounding.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpora-
tion to keep, maintain or pasture horses, cattle, mules,
goats, sheep, swine, fc~a~l~ poultry, or other livestock
within the municipal limits of the City of Boynton Beach,
Florida.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any such ~ivestock, including
fov~l and poultry to run at large on public or private
property within the City and it shall be the duty of the
police, upon information or view, to cause any such
livestock, fo~w~l or poultry running at large to be impounded
in accordance with the provisions relative impounding
otherwise set forth in this chapter.
SECTION 2: AUTHORITY TO CODIFY.
Specific authority is hereby granted to codify and incorporai
this amendment in the City's existing code.
SECTION 3: SEPARABILITY.
Each of the provisions of this ordinance are separable,
including word, clause, phrase, or sentence, and if any provision hereof
shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: Repealing Provisions.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: Effective Date.
This ordinance is deemed to be an emergency ordinance and
shall take effect immediately upon passage.
