O62-11ORDINANCE NO. 62- 11 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, ESTABLISHING VOTING PRECINCTS FOR GENERAL AND SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS: PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION l: Thai Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, is hereby amended by adding after Section 8-18, an additional Section No. 8-19 which shall read: "Section 8-19:: For the purposes of all general and special municipal elections, the CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, is hereby divided into two election districts or voting precincts to be designated "The North Precinct" and "The South Precinct" respectively. The North Precinct shall consist of all area within the existing corporate limits of the City or any extension thereof, lying North of the center line of Boynton Road (N. W. and N. E. Second Avenue). The South Precinct shall consist of all area within the existing corporate limits of the City or any extension thereof, lying South of the center line of Boynton Road (N. W. and N.E. Second Avenue). A copy of a City map setting forth the above Precincts is attached hereto and hereby made a part hereof. The Pc~i~n~g places within each of the above precincts shall be designated by the Mayor at the time of the calling of each special ~.or general municipal election, by proclamation. The registration book provided for in Section 8-1 hereinabove shall be divided into two separate sections, one consisting of all persons qualified to vote in any municipal election held in the City~ residing in the North Precinct, and the other consisting of all persons qualified to vote in any municipal election held in the City and residing within the South Precinct~ Any qualified voter who moves from one precinct to the other shall within ten days thereafter notify the City Clerk, as Registration Officer, accordingly. All persons qualified to vote in any municipal election held in the City shall cast their ballots in the Precinct in which they reside. SECTION 2: All ordinances or paris of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed° SECTION 3: Should any clause or provision of this ordinance, or any part thereof be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder thereof as a whole or any part thereof, other than the part declared to be invalid. SECTION 4: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify and incorporate this ordinance in the City's existing code. SECTION 5: This ordinance shall become effective in the manne and at the time provided by the charter and ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida. First reading this day of ~,;%~ , A.
