A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BOY~ON BEACH, FLORIDA
kW~NDING TB~ 1986/87 PAY PLAN AND
CREATING A NEW NON-CLASSIFIED JOB
POSITION OF LEGAL SECRETARY WITHIN
THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, The City's present pay plan provides for four secret.
classifications.
WHEREAS, said classifications have job descriptions which do not
require training and/or legal experience.
WHEREAS, the City has advertised, in-house, for a Secretary III.
with a legal background preferred.
WHEREAS, only two applicants have shown an interest in said posi-
tion, neither having sufficient training or experience as a legal secre-
tary to ass%~e full responsibilities inmediately.
WHEREAS, time is of the essence for the City's recently
established legal department to function at full capacity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
That the non classifiedposition of Legal Secretary (Grade 23) is
hereby created. A copy of the job description being attached and incor-
porated herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the City's in-house legal department is hereby authorized to
exercise total discretion in the hiring process to obtain a qualified
legal secretary in the most expeditious manner possible.
