R23-141 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, 4 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE FLORIDA 5 POWER & LIGHT COMPANY EASEMENT AGREEMENTS FOR FUTURE 6 CONNECTIONS/TRANSFORMERS FOR THEIR UPCOMING STORM 7 RESILIENCE PROJECT OF UNDERGROUNDING OVERHEAD LINES AT 8 HARVEY E. OYER JR PARK, LAKE STREET, BETTY THOMAS PARK AND 9 FOREST HILLS PARK;AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 10 11. WHEREAS, as part of the storm resilience project that Florida.Power & Light (FPL) 12 has upcoming to underground overhead lines, FPL is requesting (4) easements for future 13 connections/transformers; and 14 WHEREAS,the Easement locations are at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park; Lake Street; Betty 15 Thomas Park; and Forest Hills Park; and 16 WHEREAS, with more lines underground, the affected neighborhoods will have 17 better resilience to power outages; and 18 WHEREAS, the City Commission, upon recommendation of staff, deems it in the 19 best interest of the citizens and resident to approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the 20 FPL easements for future connections/transformers for upcoming storm resilience project 21 of undergrounding overhead lines at Harvey E.Oyer Jr. Park, Lake Street, Betty Thomas Park 22 and Forest Hills Park. 23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY 24 OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: 25 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas"clauses are hereby ratified and'confirmed as 26 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption 27 hereof. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida does 29 hereby approve the Easements listed below and authorizes the Mayor to sign the FPL 30 easement agreements for future connections/transformers for upcoming storm resilience 31 project of undergrounding overhead lines as follows: 32 A. Harvey Oyer Park. A 594' x 10' easement, spanning from N Federal Hwy to an 33 existing light pole,to underground their lines located on the south side of Harvey 34 Oyer Park, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by 35 reference as Exhibit "A". 36 B. Lake Street. An approximate 30' x 25' easement, located next to an existing lift 37 station on the south side of Lake Street, for future transformers, a copy of which 38 is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "B". 39 C. Betty Thomas Park. A 10' x 20' easement, located within Betty Thomas Park for 40 future transformers to serve future underground lines. The 41 easement/transformers will be located in a small landscape area, a copy of which 42 is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "C". 43 D. Forest Hills Park. A 10' x 75' Easement, connecting to FPLs existing easement on 44 the south side of Forest Hills Park a copy of which is attached hereto and 45 incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "D". 46 47 Section 3.
